Method Man hits back at Chozen cartoon critics

January 14th, 2014 8:30pm EST
Method Man
Hip-hop star Method Man has lashed out at critics online after he was attacked for starring in a new cartoon about a gay white rapper.

The How High hitmaker lends his voice to a character called Phantasm in the new animated comedy, working alongside the likes of Danny McBride, Kathryn Hahn and funnyman Bobby Moynihan as title character Chozen.

However, his involvement in the series, which chronicles Chozen's attempts to rebuild his career after a stint in prison, has prompted some detractors to take aim at Method Man via Twitter.com for allegedly damaging the image of the hip-hop industry...

Ke$ha Pens An Ode To Kenny Powers

November 12th, 2013 10:27am EST
Ke$ha has written a tribute essay to her favorite television character for the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, revealing she'll miss Kenny Powers when comedy series Eastbound & Down ends after its current season.

The 26 year-old singer admits she's "obsessed" with Danny McBride's irreverent former baseball star character, and she feels she can relate to the "all-American hillbilly white-trash hero" on a "really deep level" and she's upset she never got the chance to make a cameo on the show, like Marilyn Manson, who agreed to appear without his ghoulish make-up on a recent episode...

October 18th, 2013 3:01am EDT
Marilyn Manson
Shock rocker Marilyn Manson trashed a family hotel in North Carolina and left sex toys strewn around the room while shooting a cameo for TV comedy Eastbound & Down with pal Danny Mcbride.

Funnyman McBride insists the Rock is Dead singer was the perfect gentleman on set and appeared to be enjoying his acting stint, so he was shocked when he received a call from the hotel's manager shortly after Manson checked out.

He says, "They were like, 'Manson trashed the room!' I was like, 'Really? That's odd'.

"The lady said there was a pizza on the ceiling, red liquid everywhere, there was broken g...

This Red Band trailer is recommended for viewers over the age of 17

Emma Watson Will Witness 'The End of the World'

May 1st, 2012 9:19am EDT
Emma Watson
Emma Watson survived the wrath of Voldemort. But will she survive the end of days?

The Hogwarts graduate will work her formidable magic as the latest guest of Seth Rogen's all-star apocalypse party, "The End of the World," according to Heat Vision.

Watson has joined the increasingly impressive ensemble cast of the dark comedy, which also just recruited Jason Segel and David Krumholtz for the tale of, well, the end of the world, as seen through the eyes of several young actor-types playing meta-versions of themselves.

Emma Watson will be playing "Emma Watson" in the film, which also featu...

Danny McBride Is One Seriously Degenerate 'Clown'

April 13th, 2012 2:12pm EDT
Danny McBride
Whether he's a medieval knight ("Your Highness"), a pot dealer ("Pineapple Express"), or a bulletproof tiger/redneck baseball player ("Eastbound and Down"), Danny McBride has one mode: inappropriate.

And that's why we love him.

Thus, we are very pleased to tell you that McBride has no intention to go soft with his next project as actor-producer-writer, which Deadline says will be a remake of the Danish film and TV series "Klovn" (which means clown or fool) along with bro-centric producer Todd Phillips of "Project X" and "The Hangover"-infamy.

Somewhat modeled after Larry David's "Curb Y...

Q&A: Meet Ana de la Reguera

December 30th, 2011 11:45am EST
Ana de la Reguera
"You have to be very humble to start over," says Latin actress Ana de la Reguera when we connect very early on a Monday morning.

That's something she knows firsthand. She's just now arriving home after working through the night. It's not the kind of work schedule you'd expect for an actress who's considered "one of the most influential Latinas in the United States" according to Univision and who's been feted by - or on the cover of - various international publications like Glamour Mexico, Vogue Latinoamerica, and People en Espanol.

While all the accolades in Latin America are appreciate...

I had never impregnated anyone before, so I didn't really realize what they teach you in health clas...

Q&A: Jesse Eisenberg And Nick Swardson Talk Crazy Driving And Off-Screen Bonding For '30 Minutes Or Less'

August 10th, 2011 11:00am EDT
30 Minutes 1
Director Ruben Fleischer and actor Jesse Eisenberg proved to be formidable combination with their 2009 horror comedy “Zombieland,” which brought a unique sense of humor to the zombie apocalypse. After dabbling in a couple of indies like “Solitary Man” and “Holy Rollers,” Eisenberg went on to achieve mainstream success playing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the Oscar nominated “Social Network.”

Eisenberg’s limelight didn’t make him forget about Fleischer though. The pair teamed up again to bring us the summer action comedy “30 Minutes or Less.” In the film, two wanna-be criminals (...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - '30 Minutes Or Less,' 'The Help,' & More

August 8th, 2011 1:00pm EDT
30 Minutes or Less
Last week I caught two films: “The Change-Up” and “The Devil’s Double.” Neither of them blew me away, but if I had to pick a favorite of the two, “The Devil’s Double” wins.

With “Wedding Crashers” director David Dobkin at the helm, “The Hangover” writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, and actors like Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, you’d expect higher caliber comedy in “The Change-Up.”

Reynolds and Bateman give fine performances, but the creative team lacks focus in the genre of humor it seeks, and allows the story to drag on too long. “The Change-Up” tries to mix buddy, body swapping, r...

James Franco Doesn't Like Being Blamed For 'Your Highness' Flop

July 12th, 2011 8:19am EDT
Your Highness
James Franco insists he was unfairly targeted by critics who savaged his post-Oscars movie Your Highness - just because it was a bad film.

The actor teamed up with Oscar-winner Natalie Portman and funnyman Danny McBride for the wacky period movie - but he was the one who critics took aim at when the film flopped at the box office.

And he insists he was an easy target after becoming known as the workaholic overachiever who co-hosted the worst Academy Awards ever.

He says, "I didn't write that movie. I was just doing my job. I think I'm fine in it. They knew there were problems with that m...

Danny McBride On The Proper Dosage of Wizard Weed

April 8th, 2011 2:06pm EDT
Danny McBride isn't just the star of "Your Highness" – he's the wind beneath James Franco's wings.

Seeing as his co-stars Franco and Natalie Portman shot the medieval stoner comedy just before diving into their Oscar-nominated performance, he feels he deserves a little credit.

"James in '127 Hours' acts with a rock basically the whole entire movie and I feel like I prepared him for that performance. I was his rock in this movie," he tells MTV Radio for NextMovie backstage at "The Seven."

As for hittin' the wizard weed, it's all about moderation, he says.

"If you're going to go fight a ...

Beastie Boys Get Everyone For New Short Film

April 8th, 2011 8:05am EDT
Judging by the trailer to the Beastie Boys' "long ass video thing" -- otherwise known as "Fight For Your Right Revisited" -- MCA's short film that recently premiered at Sundance Film Festival, the group clearly has one of the deepest contact lists in the game.

The quasi-sequel to "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)" sees John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell and Jack Black as Beasties from the future who travel back in time to square off against current-day Beasties Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen and Danny McBride.

Look for additional appearances by Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Ted Danson an...
