Celebrities including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Kimmel took to Twitter last night (04.03.14) following the veteran chat show host's announcement that he will be quitting his flagship show next year, praising the 66-year-old star for his contribution to journalism.

Stars including Tom Morello, Tony Bennett, Steve Martin and Billy Bragg have paid tribute to folk icon and political activist Pete Seeger, who died on Monday.

The 94-year-old musician passed away in New York City after a short illness, and his grandson, Kitama Cahill-Jackson, subsequently revealed the star appeared to have been in good health before he fell ill last week.

The actor was asked about the proper spelling of 'lasagne' by a fan, who wrote, "is this how you spell lasonia?"

Actor Steve Martin was thrilled when a fan returned his lost wallet before a show in Pennsylvania.

The Father of the Bride funnyman was in town for a gig with his blues band at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia on Tuesday (02Jul13), but dropped his wallet while cycling through the town of Wilkes-Barre to the venue.

Steve Martin has become a first-time father at the age of 67, according to a report.

The Bowfinger star and his wife Anne Stringfield welcomed the baby in December but managed to keep their happy news under wraps until now.

A source tells the New York Post gossip column Page Six, "They've had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows. Steve's very private. They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby."

Martin married his second wife Stringfield in 2007 at a surprise ceremony where celebrity guests including Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton arrived expecting a party.

Hugh Jackman's robot boxing movie "Real Steel" has narrowly fought off competition from new dance remake "Footloose" to make it a second week atop the box office chart.
