Top 5 Game Changing Movie Bad Guys
Throughout the vast history of hero flicks one thing remains a key ingredient to being a success – the champion of the film is only as good as his bad guy movie counterpart. And while throughout cinema there have been a lot of truly tasty twisted dudes, only a very few have actually carved groundbreaking new territory in the role of ying to a hero’s yang. It’s these roles that we salute here – five sinister, calculated and conniving characters who dared to slip on the mask of malevolence and lovingly gave the movie world a whole new definition of bad guy. 15 Unquestionably Creepy Celebrities
Some celebrities are so gloriously good at what they do, even if they don't look particularly disturbing they are really, really creepy.

Christopher Walken has cemented himself as one of the creepiest actors of all time. Maybe it's his pale skin. Maybe it's his giant forehead. Of course, many of the roles he's played have contributed to the creep factor ("The Dead Zone," "A View To A Kill," "At Close Range," "The Prophecy," etc.).

Disturbing fact: Walken was a guest on the yacht of his "Brainstorm" co-car Natalie Wood and her husband, Robert Wagner, when the actress fell overboard and die...

Director Jonathan Levine On Undead Romance In 'Warm Bodies' And More

6/5/2013 10:18am EDT
Warm Bodies
A filmmaker with a knack for creating very memorable work so far, Director Jonathan Levine has managed to carve out a name for himself with merely a handful of stellar films.  One of his first, the five-star Amber Heard starring horror outing "All The Boys Love Mandy Lane," was hailed by critics (myself included!) as a real unique stamp on a familiar genre.  He followed it up with the very touching coming of age drama called "The Wackness" and finally topped it off with the comedy/drama balancing act "50/50" with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen.  His latest is no less original, taking t...

Review: 'Transformers: Dark Of The Moon' Repeats A Tired Formula

7/2/2011 10:45am EDT
Transformers 3
If we’re lucky, Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” is the last film in his series. His bloated, 154 minute mess, borders on beating a dead…robot…in disguise… (Sorry, had to go there).

Does the third “Transformers” movie advance the story for Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and his robotic friends? Yes. But does it do so in a fresh and engaging way? No.

“Dark of the Moon” repeats the same tired formula as its predecessors: poorly written dialogue, superficial female eye candy, and needlessly dangerous heroics.

Bay starts “Dark of the Moon” on the planet Cybertron, the home ...

The film, starring Willem Dafoe and John Malkovich, lists Brooks as an executive producer and Cage as producer.

Brooks wants a judge to force the actor to pay up, according to

Transformers Dark Of The Moon
By Joan Alperin Schwartz: 'Transformers - Dark Of The Moon' presented in 3D is directed by Michael Bay.

First, I'll start with the good stuff. And yes, there is 'good stuff'. In fact, I think this is the best 'Transformers' of the series...which may or may not be saying much...depending on how you felt about the other two.

Here it goes...In no particular order...What I liked about this film...

1) The backstory...We find out from archival news footage that President Kennedy didn't send our astronauts to the Moon just to take a few steps for Mankind, but to investigate an alien space s...

Review: Age Comes Before Beauty in 'Red'

10/15/2010 11:35am EDT
The graphic novel-turned-film “Red,” about a group of retired assassins forced back into action draws to mind the idiom “age before beauty.” This saying for those unfamiliar, asserts that younger people should pay deference to their elders, because of their more extensive experience. It’s their knowledge and ability to think ahead that allows the old timers in “Red” to kick ass, and the chemistry of a fantastic cast that makes the movie so entertaining.

“Red” does not rely on experimental visual style despite being a graphic novel adaptation, nor does it overwhelm you with epic explosio...

Bruce Willis: 'Fear Is My Favorite Part Of Making Movies'

10/12/2010 11:45am EDT
There was a funny action movie many years ago where a heroic sidekick, nearing retirement age, would say, “I’m too old for this shit.” They made four of those movies and he never got too old for that shit. In his new movie Red, Bruce Willis plays a CIA agent who actually was retired, until he has to spring back into action.

“The word is certainly used and used in the title of the film: Retired Extremely Dangerous,” Willis said. “It’s commented on a couple of times, but when you see the film it’s right now. It’s hip. Karl [Urban] and I went at it in one of the toughest fights I’ve ever foug...

10/10/2010 3:41pm EDT
Mary Louise Parker
Actresses Mary Louise Parker and Helen Mirren feared they'd be sacked from new action comedy "Red" once director Robert Schwentke saw them running.

The two thespians were tested to the full when it came to giving chase in the new film - because no matter how hard they tried they struggled to look convincing.

Parker explains, "Helen and I both said that we thought as soon as they saw us run that we'd both be fired. It takes a certain kind of commitment to run and look like there's a lot of drama happening around you and then to fall.

"I don't mind being pulled to the ground if something w...

'Jonah Hex' - Does It Have Box Office Appeal?

6/18/2010 12:52pm EDT
Comic book movies have really taken over the past few years, and it has encouraged writers to go looking for any character or graphic novel that hadn't yet been adapted to the screen. That must be the reason that Jonah Hex ever saw the light of day, because this dark and disjointed DC Comics character really does not seem like the best choice for a movie adaptation. He's horrifically scarred, cynical and bad tempered, and how many years has it been since a western really did well at the box office? The movie set was fraught with trouble, and it is already getting incredibly low scores from ...

Supernatural elements combine with Western aesthetics to take viewers on a wild and bloody ride, with Brolin leading the way as Hex and John Malkovich stepping into the villainous role of Turnbull.

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Toy Story 3,' 'Jonah Hex,' & More

6/14/2010 9:39am EDT
Jonah Hex
The remake of “The Karate Kid” starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, does not live up to the original, but it does effectively adapt the model of the story to a new setting. Jaden Smith’s character Dre, character is a bit more obnoxious and impatient than Ralph Macchio’s Daniel, mainly because he is younger though. As Mr. Han, Dre’s instructor, Jackie Chan gives a deep and nuanced performance, showing that he is a brilliant teacher despite his tragic past.

Action sequences in the movie are fast-paced and exciting, however in many ways this version sensationalizes the violence in a way th...

The actor lost a fortune as a former client of the infamous schemer and argues the $670,000 he received from the trustees who liquidated Madoff's firm was not nearly enough.
