January 22nd, 2014 11:57am EST
Quentin Tarantino
We all know how obsessive and private one can get when writing a screenplay. For someone to leak Quentin Tarantino's script for his new western film titled, ‘The Hateful Eight’ is absolutely ridiculous.

Here’s what Tarantino had to say about this:

“I finished a script, a first draft, and I didn’t mean to shoot it until next winter, a year from now,” said the Oscar-winning film-maker to Deadline.com. “I gave it to six people, and apparently it’s gotten out today.

“I gave it to one of the producers on Django Unchained, Reggie Hudlin, and he let an agent come to his house and read it. That’...

Video Game Movies: The Good, The Bad, And The Boll

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
With Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li arriving in theaters February 27, it’s time to take a look back at the video game movies that brought us to this point.

While video games run the gamut of quality - from very good to very bad - video game movies have typically been on the “poor” side of the critical spectrum. Games are written with interactivity in mind, and thus their storylines don’t always mesh with the film medium.

Still, there are a few titles one could argue are at least passable – even if fans of the video games they are based on do not find them loyal to the ori...

Awesome But Dead: Five Great TV Shows That Were Cancelled Undeservedly

September 23rd, 2008 9:00am EDT
Moonlight
Everyone can think of one off the top of their head: A TV show that got the axe way too soon. Actually, there is at least one show per season that "died before its time" - because it was killed by heartless TV executives. Here, we honour five shows that suffered an especially gruesome and undeserved death.

Profit (1996), 4 episodes aired

The best show you have probably never heard of. Also, it is the most cancelled of all cancelled shows, taken off the air by FOX after only four episodes in 1996, even though eight had been completed (and were later released on DVD).

The Best & Worst Films By Quentin Tarantino

April 24th, 2008 8:30am EDT
Quentin Tarantino
The serendipitous career of eccentric movie producer, director and writer Quentin Tarantino is a complex one. Tarantino has made a name for himself by creating nonlinear storylines and filming multiple perspectives from different characters in his movies - a technique that strays from the more commonly used straight-time storyline.

His films are not off the wall, but they invoke an element of surprise that comes from the small details within a scene that catches one off guard and by adding mysterious elements that never get explained. A good example of this was in Pulp Fiction when M...

Video Games Do Not Make Good Movies

There are some things in Hollywood that just do not work: Lindsay Lohan and sobriety, most marriages, Tim Allen tackling roles not involving Christmas, and successfully adapting a video game into a movie. Why is this so hard?

The powers that be can take a 700-page book and trim it down to a two-hour story. Either they are picking really bad video games to adapt or the people involved just suck. There has yet to be a quality adaptation. So why do studios keep insisting on producing them? They even screwed up Doom, a story that involves Marines fighting aliens. How is that even possible...
