Ten Films I Love That You've Never Heard Of
Brittany's Blog: This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this weekend, I'm busy re-organizing my DVD collection. All 3,000-plus of them. But while I own my fair share of blockbusters, I also have a special place in my heart for lesser-known movies. A lot of great films fly under the radar, and as I'm moving a few of them around on my shelves, I thought I ought to share them with you.
In alphabetical order, here are ten of my favorite flicks that you probably didn't know existed, and links so you can pick them up for yourselves (which you should).

'Suits' Recap: 'High Noon' (2.10; Summer Finale)
"High Noon" is the appropriately titled Suits summer finale, and for some reason, that makes me want to throw things. Rare is the TV show that's so good, its absence is a reason to be disgruntled. After ten episodes of setting up all the dominoes, "High Noon" knocks them down perfectly.
We begin as the partners are casting their votes for managing partner, while Jessica and Hardman wait anxiously outside for the results. Louis is still deciding who to vote for while if looks could kill, Harvey's would. Elsewhere in the firm, Jessica wants to know why Mike is at work the day after...

'Suits' Recap: 'Asterisk' (2.09)
Can you believe that Suits is heading for its summer finale already? With a partner battle brewing, the show pushes everything to a head with a few little gems for the fans along the way and one heartbreaking ending.
Harvey is still psuedo-stalking Donna, this time allegedly to bring her a bonus check that she doesn't want. She's still angry with him, especially when he gives her the mother of all puppy dog faces. "I am not in love with you, Harvey. I love you like a brother or a cousin," she tells him. Sarah Rafferty: Meet TV's Top (and Most-Talked About) Assistant
They say you never know what you've got until it's gone. That could apply to USA's Suits: ever since complex, sassy and deeply loyal assistant Donna Paulsen was fired from Pearson Hardman, the audience has been up in arms and the series hasn't been the same. It's not hard to see why Donna has captured the hearts of Suits fans and fans of good TV alike.
She's played by Sarah Rafferty, one of television's top actresses.
The role of Donna has brought plenty of deserved attention for the veteran actress. It's the part that many women would kill for: a great wardrobe, plenty of sharp dial...

'Suits' Recap and Review: 'Rewind' (2.08)
Suits takes its story backwards in order to go forward this week, and it fits like the missing piece to a fantastic puzzle, giving us further insight into the characters and one line that we've waited what seems like forever to hear.
The episode starts in the present time, with Mike making Ferris Bueller's Day Off references when he meets Harvey to discuss something they're going to do that Jessica can't find out about. When Mike asks if what they're going to do will cross a line, "We've been crossing lines before we even ever met," Harvey tells him, before getting on a train....

'Suits' Recap and Review: 'Sucker Punch' (2.07)
An interesting thing happened while I was watching this week's Suits: I realized that I knew what was going to happen and that I didn't care, because I was so invested in what was going on that the experience of it was what mattered. Here's a show where predictability isn't a sign of weakness, but a position of strength because the characters and storylines are intriguing enough to keep us thinking about them, talking about them, and wanting to figure them out.

10 Great TV Shows You're Not Watching
This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this week Starpulse has asked me to give you 10 outstanding TV shows that you're not yet loving, but you will.
With so many channels it's no wonder that a lot of great shows either slip through the cracks or don't get as much attention as they deserve. To help you find the series you might not know, I've compiled this handy list of programs you can check out right now.
My only criteria? They must be currently airing and able for you to tune into right now, be it first-run or repeats. (Therefore, cancelled shows are not eliglible, a...

'Suits' Recap: 'All In' (2.06)
Suits did a fantastic job of riling up its fans with last week's jaw-dropping episode. How does it follow that up? By continuing to push its characters and adding in a few outstanding guest stars as a bonus.
Harvey is understandably not coping with the loss of his best friend well, as he adjusts to having to answer his office phone himself and decides to drag Mike involuntarily to Atlantic City, where Mike was smoking weed and counting cards in his past life. (Atlantic City was also the site of major events in tonight's Burn Notice, in an interesting coincidence.) Harvey's ther...

'Suits' Recap and Review: 'Meet the New Boss' (2.03)
The deconstruction of Suits continues in this week's episode, where we really start to see the nefarious (I can think of no better word) Daniel Hardman make moves within the firm that bears his name and the show is bolstered by a top-flight guest star. It's another week where USA's top original series continues to take chances, and that so far has been a winning formula.

Q&A: 'Suits' Star Gabriel Macht Previews Season 2
Can't get enough after last night's Suits season premiere? Star Gabriel Macht recently talked with me and let me in on a few things we can look forward to during the show's sophomore run.
When I last spoke with Gabriel before the end of season one, one of the things we discussed was his return to television after being primarily a film actor; his previous TV leading role was The Others way back in 2000. Now that he's got season one of Suits behind him, he said it's gotten easier.

'Suits' Recap and Review: 'She Knows' (2.01)
Suits left us with a near-perfect season finale. It's a difficult act to follow up a great episode - but damned if this show doesn't come back with an equally fantastic second-season premiere.
As we rejoin Mike, he's nervous as hell because he's been invited to dinner by Jessica. He's convinced that means she knows his secret, until Harvey tells him that each of the last five senior partners was taken to dinner by Jessica when they were first-year associates. "We can discuss the prom at recess," Harvey adds, more interested in a pending merger he's working on.

'Suits' Season 2 Premiere Advance Review: Does It Still Succeed?
Tomorrow, last summer's best new series is finally back. Is the Suits season premiere worth the wait? SPOILER ALERT!
If you didn't guess from the title ("She Knows"), the premiere does address that controversial cliffhanger from the end of the first season. What's important is how that happens: the show doesn't look for an easy out, and it doesn't undermine the series' central concept, either. The resolution is as perfect as it could have possibly been played.

Why 'Suits' Star Gabriel Macht Should Be An Emmy Contender
When Emmy nominations are announced on July 19, there's one name I would love to see on the ballot: Suits leading man Gabriel Macht.
The Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category is the toughest of all Emmy divisions. It'll take a lot to break in amongst recurring nominees like Mad Men's Jon Hamm, House's Hugh Laurie, and Justified's Timothy Olyphant. I'm not saying those gentlemen don't deserve their nominations; Olyphant remains one of my favorite actors. But I firmly believe that come July 19, Macht should be taking his place among them, because he has excelled from the first ...

Gabriel Macht Reveals Some Scoop About 'Suits' Season Two
Gabriel Macht plays the overconfident, sexy Harvey Spector on USA Network's hot series "Suits." Starpulse had a chance to talk with Macht on set in Toronto, Canada, and he opened up about what fans can expect in the second season, which kicks off Thursday, June 14.
Harvey must contend with Daniel Hardman this season, a partner in the law firm who returns after he was forced to leave due to a financial scandal and his wife's illness.
"In Episode 2, you learn why Harvey doesn't really like him or trust him," Macht explained. "(Hardman's a) totally untrustworthy guy, but you know we hope tha...

5 Gabriel Macht Films For 'Suits' Fans
I know Suits fans are excited for Thursday's return of Harvey Specter - but how well do you know the man behind him, Gabriel Macht?
As Harvey, Macht is giving one of the most outstanding individual performances on television. He's everything that a TV leading man should be. Harvey is smart, complex, charismatic, strong-willed and sharp-witted, just to name a few things. But Macht is one of the best actors working today, who's been great in much more than just one role.

My 10 Celebrity Valentines For 2012
Valentine's Day is almost upon us. I don't have a valentine this year, but I'd like to give a few out to 10 celebs whose work I have particular affection for.
1. Adam Levine
My favorite The Voice coach is someone I'll always admire, and deservedly so: he has more hardware than a Home Depot. This past year alone, he and Maroon 5 scored their first American Music Award, a People's Choice Award and a Grammy nomination. I totally concur with my friend Jesse Blaze Snider, who referred to them as a band "with three near-perfect albums." (And a fourth on the way, reportedly due in June.)

The 11 Best From 2011

1. Southland, TNT
(Season 3 began January 4)
I have to admit that I didn't keep up with TNT's gritty Los Angeles cop drama as much as I would have liked; it fell victim to sharing Tuesday nights with three other shows on my watch list. Yet when I did find time to catch it, I was no less than impressed every time.

Gabriel Macht: The Smartest Actor On Television
Gabriel Macht is a genius.
It isn't in the conventional sense. Measuring him by his IQ - whatever that may be - wouldn't do him justice. Neither would examining his lengthy filmography of over twenty years. Yet spend a few minutes in his company, and it becomes quickly apparent that he is brilliant. It's in his verbal acuity, which would make many professional writers envious. It's in the thought he gives to even the most casual of conversations. He's just plain smarter than you or me.
He's not the type to need to prove that to anyone. Yet with the success of USA Network's original...

Commentary: The 5 Things I'm Thankful For In 2011
With Thanksgiving tomorrow, many Starpulse writers are giving thanks for our favorite pop-culture moments. Here's what's on my list, from a reality show to a play that was all too real.

Q&A: Music's Underrated Star Jesse Macht
Last week, I introduced you to Jesse Macht - a talented musician you should be listening to. If you're not convinced yet, I recently sat down with Jesse to get his story in his own words.
I've spent the past year on a journey of musical discovery, and Jesse - not just his music, but who he is as a person - is everything that I've come to love about the art. He's simply great at what he does, relying on hard work and passion rather than a gimmick or a technological advantage. Music Talk: Get To Know Jesse Macht
I'd never heard a note of Jesse Macht's music before Saturday night, but once I did, I felt like I had to write about him. He's that good.
Here's the 411 on the singer-songwriter that you need to discover.
Why you should get to know him: His music is ridiculously catchy; even when the song's a slow one, there's something that's going to get you, be it the beat, a lyrical hook or a great harmony with his bandmates. It helps that there's an upbeat heart to every tune. You won't find depressing, broody music about the girlfriend that dumped him in his repertoire. Whatever he's singing abou...

'Suits' 1.12 'Dogfight' Review
The last four episodes of Suits have been the best scripted TV I've seen all summer. The accomplishment also raised my expectations for the season finale - expectations which were met in an hour that seemed to slide the last pieces into place.
Picking up where "Rules of the Game" left off, "Dogfight" sees Harvey try to free the innocent Clifford Danner (Neil Brown, Jr.) from prison, while Mike tries to keep a handle on his messy personal life. One of them succeeds, and the other, not so much. What that gives us is an episode that pays off last week's plot development in fine fashi...

'Suits' 1.11 'Rules of the Game' Review
Suits, you are a crafty little show. Last week, you showed me where your characters were heading; this week, you showed me where my favorite has been, and yanked pretty damn hard on my heartstrings besides. I didn't know I liked you this much until you punched me in the stomach. Ow.

Q&A: 'Suits' Star Gabriel Macht Digs Into Harvey Specter
Manhattan attorney Harvey Specter may be a piece of work, but that just shows how excellent Gabriel Macht is at his job. The Suits star has all of his alter ego's brain and none of the...well, ego. In fact, he's one of the most endearing, articulate and thoughtful actors I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. As we enjoy the last two episodes of season one (beginning tonight at 10 PM ET/PT on USA), I had the pleasure of talking with Gabriel about what's upcoming and what he's taken away from playing summer TV's most intriguing character.

Summer Lovin': Two New Summer Shows To Love
There’s nothing I love more than being swept off my pop culture-lovin’ feet by a new television series. For this television-aholic, it feels like being given an invitation to an exhilarating alternate reality, and I have this lovin' feeling for two summer shows. I worship them so much that I’m not even obsessing about the impending start of the fall season (Kidding, less than three weeks, people!).
Here are two shows that I’m head-over-heels for. One is a sophisticated legal drama set in the core of the Big Apple, another is a guilty-pleasure reality show about a real basketball wife.

'Suits' 1.10 'The Shelf Life' Review
I liken my relationship with Suits to...well, a relationship. After a long courtship, the show finally won me over last week, and now I'm waiting to see how the second date goes before I commit.
Harvey's tasked with engineering the firing of a senior VP at Pearson Hardman's accounting firm, being that Stan (played by Enterprise star John Billingsley) lied on his resume and doesn't even have a CPA - something that sounds more than a little familiar. It's hard for Mike not to see himself in the good-natured bookkeeper, who quickly suspects a conspiracy when Mike points out that the bac...

'Suits' 1.09 'Undefeated' Review
I've got to hand it to the people behind Suits. At first glance, I wasn't sold on this show - it still reminds me of a newish White Collar, only with lawyers - but armed with two solid lead actors, it's improved each week. Now add great guest stars to the mix? I'm hooked.
Without A Trace star Eric Close turns up this week as Travis Tanner, who waltzes into Harvey's office and introduces himself as the competition in a class-action lawsuit. (Donna refers to him as "that tennis-playing douchebag.") Tanner strikes an early low blow when he brings up a shoulder injury that kept Harvey ...
