Mexican actor/director Diego Luna made his new Cesar Chavez biopic for his young son, so the kid would always have a film about his heritage.

Luna hopes the film becomes a big hit and is embraced by the Latino community, who farm worker Chavez fought for his entire life, but he signed on for the project with his five-year-old son in mind.

Deadline reports that New Line is in the process of acquiring the rights to "Crazy U: One Dad's Crash Course in Getting His Kid Into College," and that they're looking to Ferrell as their star.

Michael Peña, the dark and handsome thespian most recently seen in comedies like "Observe and Report" and "30 Minutes or Less," is returning to his (more) dramatic roots.

Movie bosses are bringing Dirty Dancing back to the big screen - a remake of the 1987 classic is in the pipeline.

The film - starred Patrick Swayze as a dance instructor - took a massive $213 million at the worldwide box office and propelled the actor to international superstardom.

A sequel, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, starring Diego Luna, was released in 2004 and a theatre production has been wowing audiences on Broadway and in London's West End.

Mexican movie star Gael Garcia Bernal is set to become a first-time father, according to Argentinean reports. Gossip magazine Paparazzi claims the star's girlfriend, actress Dolores Fonzi, is pregnant.

The 29-year-old couple has never confirmed the romance, but they reportedly met and fell in love while shooting the movie "Vidas Privadas" in 2006.

Ironically, Bernal's best friend and "Y Tu Mama Tambien" co-star Diego Luna is set to become a first-time father later this year - he is expecting a child with his girlfriend, actress Camila Sodi.

Mexican movie star Diego Luna is set to become a father, according to news sources in Latin America. The actor and girlfriend Camila Sodi are expecting their first child, according to Hola! magazine.

Reports suggest the actor/director, 28, is also planning to wed the 21-year-old actress.

Teenage pop star Belinda scooped two awards at the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America on Thursday. The 18-year-old picked up the award for Video of the Year (for Bella Traicion) and Best Solo Artist at a ceremony in Mexico City.

Avril Lavigne practiced her Spanish when receiving the trophy for Song Of The Year for her track Girlfriend.

Mexican rock band Mana won the award for Best Group Or Duo and Artist Of The Year.

The awards were handed out by Mexican movie star Diego Luna.
