Immaturity Stops Being Funny In 'American Reunion'

April 7th, 2012 11:30am EDT
American Reunion
No one likes getting old. What sucks almost as much as aging though, is doing things which make you feel old, like watching “American Reunion.” Despite its emphasis on sentimental nostalgia, the fourth film in the “American Pie” franchise simply reminds us that we can't live in the past forever.

The premise for reuniting the characters from East Great Falls is surprisingly sound. Their high school missed the group’s 10 year reunion, so they’ve decided to reconvene 13 years later instead. It’s an odd number and an unlucky one, but whatever. This should be a prime opportunity to catch...

'American Reunion' Review: Eugene Levy After Credit Bit Is Best Part Of Film

April 5th, 2012 3:00pm EDT
American Reunion
The film 'American Pie' was and is a classic. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, 'American Pie' is about four guys, from East Great Falls Michigan, that are on a quest to lose their virginity before they graduate high school.

I can still remember sitting in the theatre .

The film takes place ten years after the gang graduated from high school. They've come back to their home town for their 10 year high school reunion and we soon discover that none of their lives have turned out the way they expected. Never saw that in a film before.

Two Jews on Film - By Joan Alperin Schwartz...

In addition to interviewing Fran Kranz and Kristen Connolly from “The Cabin in the Woods” last week, I also spoke with author Dana Fredsti about her new zombie book Plague Town, which comes out on Tuesday. We talked about her book, her connection to the cult classic “Army of Darkness,” and about this season of “The Walking Dead.” If you haven’t seen my interview yet, definitely check it out.

This week you’ll have the opportunity to see the “American Pie” gang back together again in “American Reunion,” the college comedy “Damsels in Distress,” the Morgan Spurlock documentary “Comic-Co...

Jason Biggs Gets Vulgar With 'American Reunion' Cast In Woolloomooloo (Photos)

March 6th, 2012 10:30am EST
American Pie Reunion
Tara Reid, Jason Biggs, and several of their castmates attended a photocall for "American Reunion" at Harry's Cafe de Wheels in Woolloomooloo, Australia, yesterday. As you can see, Biggs acted like a kid and had some fun in front of the cameras.

In the film the characters from the 1999 comedy classic return home for their 10-year high school reunion. Some couples got married while others went their separate ways. Then there's Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), who still remembers that perfect evening he spent with Stifler's mom.

Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Mena...

Actor Chris Klein has signed up for another slice of American Pie following a two-month rehab stint last year.

The star has joined another original Pie favorite, Seann William Scott, who also sought treatment in rehab recently for "health and personal issues." Klein will return as Chris 'Oz' Ostreicher in the fourth installment of the teen comedy, titled American Reunion.

Following his success in the films, Klein fell from grace after twice being arrested for drunk driving - once in 2005 and again in 2010. After he was caught for the second time last year, Klein checked himself into a r...

He
Ah, Valentine's Day weekend, the perfect time for Hollywood to embrace the mainstream audience by giving them cheesy and wonderful romantic comedies to prepare for the big day of love. This year the aptly named "Valentine's Day" is perfectly timed to get big notice, but one of the first things that impresses viewers is seeing the celebrity cast involved. It seems like almost every major actor is involved with this project, including Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Ashton Kutcher, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Patrick Dempsey, and on and on with at least ten other ...

'Taking Woodstock' Review: Where Did The Music Go?

August 27th, 2009 10:43am EDT
Taking Woodstock
What would the Woodstock Music & Art Fair have been like without the music? Most likely: Three days of 500 thousand wet, drug induced concert goers rolling around in the mud. Well, at least the final act of Ang Lee's "Taking Woodstock" gets that part right. The festival is very much in full force but, strangely, the actual music is no where to be found. Really, were the music rights really that expensive? What "Taking Woodstock" does do is show a microcosm of the entire late 1960's counter-culture movement through the eyes of sleepy upstate New York town of Bethel over a month long period, ...

Eli Stone
Every episode of "Eli Stone" begins with a recap narrated by good ol' Eli (Jonny Lee Miller). The spot changes every episode, and this week Eli starts out by proclaiming his story to be something truly different. If by different, Eli means repetitive and sleep inducing, then he's absolutely right. If that is the case, "Eli Stone" is downright unique.

2 for 1

It seems like the writers decided that one controversial issue per episode was not enough, so this week we got two! Please try to contain your excitement. Having two separate cases constituted a change of pace for the ser...
