Nick Jonas' Broadway Show 'HTSIBWRT' To Close

May 9th, 2012 12:05pm EDT
Nick Jonas
Nick Jonas' stint on Broadway in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying has been cut short after producers announced the stage show is to close early following sluggish box office sales.

The pop star took on the lead role in January and had been contracted to stay in the production until at least July, but producers have now announced the show's final performance will be on May 20th.

Ticket sales have taken a noticeable hit recently, with last week's earnings totalling just $368,000 out of a possible $1.3 million, according to the Press Association.

"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone's hit musical "The Book Of Mormon" swept the board at the 2011 Tony Awards on Sunday, scooping nine top honors including the prestigious Best Musical.

The critically-acclaimed show, about two Mormon missionaries sent to Uganda, was nominated for 14 prizes at the New York ceremony, which celebrates the best of Broadway.

Host Neil Patrick Harris opened the awards show at The Beacon Theatre with a comical song-and-dance number titled "It's Not Just For Gays Anymore," and Hugh Jackman, a previous Tony Awards host, later joined the actor onstage...

'Chuck' 4.14 'Chuck Versus The Seduction Impossible' Review

February 8th, 2011 12:44am EST
Chuck
Chuck has a tough act to follow after last week's psuedo-season (psuedo-series, even) finale. Now that Chuck and Sarah are reunited (and engaged!) the members of Team Bartowski are all too happy to get back to spy business, which means rescuing Roan Montgomery (John Larroquette) from Marrakesh, where he was last seen investigating (what else?) a group of female mercenaries led by Fatima (Spartacus: Blood and Sand star Lesley-Ann Brandt). Montgomery isn't all that happy about being rescued, especially since one errant sneeze gets everyone except Casey thrown in the dungeon. Since the...

'30 Rock' Recap: 'The One With The Cast Of Night Court'

November 14th, 2008 10:02am EST
30 Rock
Stealing a plot that must feel awfully familiar to guest star Jennifer Aniston, 30 Rock takes a turn for the dangerously psychotic (instead of the usual simple, funny psychotic antics of Tracy and Jenna) in its third episode for the season of the same number with a stalker storyline.

Aniston plays Claire, Liz' ex-roommate from Chicago who is just a little bit crazy but pretty enough that not many seem to notice. Recently How I Met Your Mother took a stab (no pun intended) at this phenomenon with Barney Stinson's Mendoza Diagonal analogy, but it was perhaps first introduced to mainstre...

Four Actors Won't Return To 'Boston Legal' This Fall

June 13th, 2007 2:08pm EDT
Julie Bowen
TVGuide.com’s Michael Ausiello reports exclusively that heads are rolling over at Boston Legal. Julie Bowen, Mark Valley, Rene Auberjonois and Constance Zimmer have all been let go from the show, sources say. A show insider confirms that "their contract options were not picked up."

To fill the void, Night Court's John Larroquette is joining the show as a series regular next season, but he won't be reprising his Emmy-winning role from David E. Kelley's The Practice. Instead, he will be playing an attorney from the New York offices of CP&S. Also Dirt's Tara Summers will be coming on b...
