10 Celebs We'd Love As Prom Dates

May 11th, 2013 9:00am EDT
Mila Kunis
Prom season is finally upon us, and while high schools kids are busy planning the perfect prom night, we’re busy fantasizing over the celebrities we would love to be our prom dates.

Mila Kunis: Mila Kunis was recently named FHM Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Woman in the World,’ and with a title like that, it’d be foolish not to include her on this list. In addition to her beauty, Mila is incredibly funny, as proven by her comedic roles in “Family Guy,” “Friends with Benefits” and “Ted.” Who wouldn’t want to spend their prom night with a gal who’s funny and sexy?

Jennifer Lawrence: Though the ph...

According to USA Today, de Rossi called it "such a relief. It's so exciting. I've been waiting for a long, long time."

"It was divine to put that hook back on," ...

Ben Affleck
Following the horrifying bomb blasts during the Boston Marathon, Ben Affleck and a number of other celebrities have reached out to fellow Massachusetts natives to lend their support, thoughts and prayers.

Two explosions ripped through the Boylston Street area of Boston on Monday; three people died and more than 140 were injured.

Affleck, who grew up in Cambridge, wrote on Facebook:  "Such a senseless and tragic day. My family and I send our love to our beloved and resilient Boston."

Dane Cook, also from Cambridge, tweeted: "My prayers with everyone in Boston right now after this atrociou...

John Krasinski Was Convinced Emily Blunt Would Dump Him After Success Of 'The Young Victoria'

October 19th, 2012 6:14pm EDT
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt
The Office star John Krasinski felt sure his girlfriend Emily Blunt would dump him after he saw her in 2009 movie The Young Victoria - because it suddenly hit him that she was way out of his league.

The actor had only been dating the Brit for three weeks when he accompanied her to a screening of the period movie - and he admits he was completely dazzled by her performance.

He tells C magazine, "You're like, 'Boy, I wonder who she's going to date starting tomorrow... because it sure as s**t ain't going to be me.'"

But Blunt had found her ideal man and the couple wed a year later.

John Krasinski Dreading The End Of 'The Office'

October 18th, 2012 5:17pm EDT
John Krasinski
John Krasinski fears he will have an identity crisis when hit comedy The Office ends - because fans only know him as salesman Jim Halpert.

Krasinski was relatively unknown when he landed a role on the Emmy Award-winning show in 2005, and since then he has only stepped out of his character's shadow to play roles in movies like Leatherheads and It's Complicated.

As a result, when the series airs its final episode next year, the actor will be forced to pave his own path - and the part-time screenwriter, who is married to Emily Blunt, is worried he may fall out of favor with fans and follow...

The Office To End After Upcoming Ninth Season

August 21st, 2012 10:12pm EDT
The Office
The upcoming ninth season of hit comedy The Office will be its last.

The Emmy Award-winning series, based on comedian Ricky Gervais' hit British incarnation of the same name, premiered in 2005, essentially launching the careers of several little-known actors, including Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling and Jenna Fischer.

The program has gained a large following ever since, thanks to lead characters Ed Helms and Steve Carell, who quit the series last year, but on Tuesday, executive producer Greg Daniels shocked fans by announcing they are calling it quits.

He tells The Hollywood ...

'The Office' Recap: 'Free Family Portrait Studio'

May 12th, 2012 4:54pm EDT
Angela Kinsey
‘The Office’ has limped to the season-ending finish line with ‘Free Family Portrait Studio.’ With only a couple of laugh-out-loud moments and plenty of change ahead, it makes one worry for the series’ future. But let’s start with what actually happens.

Andy returns to Dunder Mifflin (again) looking pathetic as ever. He’s dressed like a janitor and asks Nellie for any sort of work. She allows him to be a carpet cleaner, for which he appears grateful. As it turns out, though, he’s just putting on an act. He knows David Wallace has bought Dunder Mifflin and that he will be returned to the pos...

'The Office' Recap: 'Turf Wars'

May 6th, 2012 4:47pm EDT
The Office
A lot of people seem to think that if ‘The Office’ jumped the shark, it was with the “Michael Scott Paper Company” phase. Those who weren’t a fan of that storyline were probably a bit miffed by ‘Turf Wars,’ which sees Andy do practically the same thing.

Clearly, he’s still missing working at Dunder Mifflin. He comes into the office randomly one day to make lunch for his former coworkers. While he’s there, he sees quite a bit of drama unfold.

Robert California walks in and seems to be in a hung over stupor, vomiting in a trash can. He “celebrated” the night before upon finding out his divo...

'The Office' Recap: 'The Fundraiser'

April 29th, 2012 4:02pm EDT
The Office
Public functions don’t seem to go well with ‘The Office’ folk. Numerous embarrassing situations typically emerge, and ‘The Fundraiser’ is no exception.

Robert California announces that he’s bought two tables at a fundraiser for an animal welfare society, an event hosted by Angela’s (state) senator husband. Let’s see, where should we start with all the awkwardness?

Andy shows up uninvited. He ends up heckling Robert and announces his exciting plans for the rock opera he’s been writing in his spare time. In an effort to show everyone that he’s okay after being fired, he aims to impress. He ...

With Andy and Erin on their way back from Florida, the rest of the crew (including Robert) awaits new boss Nellie’s arrival. It seems she slept in, hitting the snooze button nine times, and seems overwhelmed with moving all of her stuff into her apartment “in the suburb of a suburb.” Robert quickly assigns Jim and Dwight to help her unpack, while the rest of the staff is tasked with throwing Nellie a welcome party. Oh joy.

Meanwhile, back on the road, Andy and Erin are rehearsing how Andy should break up with Jessica. He knows Jessica is at her family’s cabin so decides to stop and do it t...

'The Office' Recap: 'Get The Girl'

March 17th, 2012 8:12pm EDT
Ed Helms
This episode is called “Get the Girl” because of what Andy’s after. But it could have easily been titled regarding what Nellie’s after: Andy’s job. In the end, it looks like they both get what they want.

Andy has ridiculously bad timing by driving down to Florida to tell Erin he loves her and bring her back to Scranton. But Erin has built a (kinda lonely and boring) life for herself caring for her old lady (the sharp Georgia Engel). And, in a rather heartfelt and revealing conversation, she tells Andy that he’s broken her heart too many times and she’s realized it will never work for them....

'The Office' Recap: 'Last Day In Florida'

March 12th, 2012 9:09pm EDT
Todd Packer
It’s the end of the line for ‘The Office’ Floridians. Well, at least some of them.

When Jim, Dwight and Nellie join in a game of golf with Robert California (where have you been?) it becomes clear to Jim that Dwight’s job is in jeopardy. Clearly, Robert is not pleased with how things are going, although he oddly does not fault Nellie for this. Jim knows Dwight is as safe as one of Moze’s squirrels.

Back at the Scranton office – and let’s just dwell on this briefly – it’s time to sell Girl Scout cookies. Yes, that sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Toby and Darryl, who both have daughters at abo...

These two-sided episodes are getting a little old. The stuff going on in Florida is kind of interesting, but that makes everything else back in Scranton seem deadly dull. Let’s start there and get it over with.

A little gang of kids on bikes randomly attack Pam (really?) and when Andy intervenes, a 12-year-old girl punches him straight in the eye. Of course he doesn’t want to own up to it, so he and Pam tell the Office folk that they were attacked by a gang brandishing weapons.

After convincing the gang not to call the police, Andy has Toby conduct a self-defense course, the highlight of ...

“After Hours” takes us back to Tallahassee, where Dwight and Packer are both vying hard for Sabre’s VP job. They key to getting it, they think, is taking Nellie to bed. At first, Packer appears to be on the road to doing that, but Dwight enlists the help of Gabe, of all people. He slips something into Packer’s drink, and before you know it, Packer is blowing chunks (appropriately enough, onto Gabe’s beloved boot-cut pants).

Eventually Dwight manages to get Nellie to invite herself to his room, which is what he wants – sort of. As it turns out, he doesn’t want to go all the way; he just wan...

The Tallahassee crew, Jim, Dwight, Ryan, Kathy, Erin and Stanley, join Nellie for an introduction to the project, and Jim and Dwight are surprised to encounter Michael’s old (obnoxious) buddy Packer (David Koechner).

When you get Dwight involved in a “special project,” you know strange things will happen. When Andy announces Dwight’s “promotion” to lead a three-week project down in Florida, he probably doesn’t know what he’s in for. And neither does anyone else in the office.

Dwight’s initial plan, which includes taking Darryl and Phyllis, among others, is botched for many reasons. Andy doesn’t agree with his choices, and Jim’s got a problem of his own – he gets a text from Robert California telling him to bring his clubs to Florida. Uh oh.

'The Office' Recap: 'Jury Duty'

I wouldn’t necessarily expect an episode of anything entitled “Jury Duty” to be hilarious. And I’d be right.

This wasn’t the worst episode of ‘The Office’ ever, but it certainly wasn’t anywhere near the top. It was, for the most part, boring. And while there were awkward parts, it was just painful and not very funny. What happened to this show being painfully funny?

Here’s the gist of the main plot: Jim was called for jury duty and ended up being released at noon on his first day. He decided to take the rest of the day off, and the next morning Pam needed help with the kids… and then he...

Sadly last week I had to miss “The Grey” due to some other commitments that popped up. I was excited to see it, so I’ll try and get to it soon. However as promised, I did post my interview with “Man on a Ledge” star Elizabeth Banks. Definitely give it a read if you haven’t already.

This week horror dominates the lineup at the box office with the Daniel Radcliffe period piece “The Woman in Black,” the mysterious sci-fi horror/thriller “Chronicle,” the low-budget haunted house movie “The Innkeepers,” and the sappy whale rescue tale “Big Miracle.”

Have you ever wanted to see Robert California naked? Or watch Gabe trip over his pants while falling into a pool naked? Or Erin ride Dwight’s shoulders? If so, then this is a twisted episode of ‘The Office’ for you!

Perhaps continuing his strange genius from last week, Kevin suggests to Robert that he have a “last hurrah” pool party at his home before it goes on the market. Somehow, Robert thinks this is a good idea, and an intimate get-together ensues… which involves several characters drinking entire bottles of wine, skinny-dipping, near proposals and pool violence. Who is the office’s secret weapon? Is it: a) Oscar, b) Kevin, c) Stanley, or d) None of the above? Shockingly, the answer is Kevin. At least, that’s what happens in the newest episode, called ‘Trivia.’

Let’s back up a little. Andy is downright obsessed with hitting the 8 percent increase in sales he’d promised Robert California. So obsessed, in fact, that he’s bought over $2,000 in paper himself and tries to convince his officemates to do the same.

It seems they are $830 short of hitting their goal. Oscar (silly Oscar) lets it slip that he’s going to a trivia night at a Philadelphia bar w...

'The Office' Recap: 'Christmas Wishes'

‘Christmas Wishes’ is perhaps the strangest holiday episode of ‘The Office’ ever. Written by Mindy Kaling and directed by Ed Helms, the story features (obviously) Christmas wishes, drunkenness, a strange musical montage and more-than-ever awkward moments.

Let’s start with Jim and Dwight. Their new deskmate (more on that in a minute) gets sick of their constant pranks, so Andy tells them to knock it off, or the offending prankster will get the other’s bonus. This leads to many a trap, including Dwight leaving his wallet and keys out, and Jim loudly announcing his credit card number. Neither...

Perhaps there are signs of life in ‘The Office’ after all. After the pre-Thanksgiving episode only delivered a few mild chuckles, ‘Mrs. California’ has several hilarious moments, as well as several awkward scenes that are the best since Steve Carell’s departure.

The premise is simple. While Jim is chatting with Andy in his office, a panicked Robert runs in and instructs Andy – through the window glass – that his wife will be coming in shortly and that he should, under no circumstances, give her a job at Dunder Mifflin.

It sounds easy enough, but for Andy, it’s not. And it’s hard to blame ...

Is it just me, or is ‘The Office’ losing steam this season? The shake-up with the addition of James Spader kept things interesting for a little while, but I fear the show is already sinking back into staleness, and I’m wondering how it can recover. More on that in a minute.

It doesn’t take much to sum up this episode: Gettysburg. For some reason, Andy thinks it would be a fun idea to take the staff to Gettysburg for a field trip (umm, because selling paper is like war?). About half go with him, including Jim, Darryl, Dwight, Phyllis, Erin, Gabe and Oscar.

Are we used to Robert California yet? Didn’t think so. It’s interesting that he does unexpected things (playing harmonica in a blues band?) yet how he goes about it is the same. He manipulates people into letting him have his way. In the course of this episode’s 22 minutes, he goes from expressing admiration for “Kevin and the Zits” to taking over their band with entirely new members.

Parts of it are funny, including Andy playing the drums on his own body to feel like he is participating. But it is sweet to see him, Darryl and Kevin reunite in the parking lot for a good, old-fashioned jam,...

We’re several weeks into the new TV season. How do you think ‘The Office’ is doing without Steve Carrel? Does Ed Helms seem like an appropriate replacement, and is James Spader giving the aging show a shot in the arm?

I will admit it: I miss Michael Scott. But I do enjoy Andy as boss, and Robert California is oddly fascinating. Still, it feels like the show is missing a center.

‘Doomsday’ is a good example. After a client accidentally gets an order for free, Robert insists that Andy eliminate office mistakes. Andy desperately agrees to Dwight’s offer to use a new system to catch errors. T...

Cool costumes are a dime a dozen on Halloween episodes of ‘The Office.’ This year, they are censored by Andy, and as a result it isn’t so exciting. (Perhaps with the exception of Dwight and his sci fi boobs.) The real meat of this installment surrounds Erin and Andy’s awkward relationship.

First off, Erin is put in charge of decorating the office for Halloween. But the posters are tamer than a preschool party, as Robert California points out. Andy is apparently hot and cold with Erin, and she’s none too pleased when he asks Angela and Phyllis to assist her to make the office a little more ...
