Johnny Knoxville has separated from his wife Melanie. The Jackass star's representative Amanda Silverman confirmed the news to US Weekly magazine, saying: "They have separated." Rumors were rife that Johnny and Melanie's marriage was under strain following allegations of infidelity.

Johnny Knoxville has revealed he is trying to pen a novel - but keeps getting sidetracked by whisky. The Dukes of Hazzard star said his weakness for the liquor is stopping him from one of his favorite hobbies - writing.

He revealed to Britain's Maxim magazine: "I've started writing a novel, but when you hear about an actor writing a novel, you want to shoot yourself. I would like to go back to writing, but whiskey always gets in the way. I ruined myself on Tennessee whiskey by the time I was 15. Whiskey usually brings out the best or worst in me."

According to reports, the Dukes Of Hazzard star had been drinking in the popular Toronto bar The Social, during a break from filming new movie Killshot, when the alleged incident took place.
