Review: 'Battleship' Sinking Faster Than Titanic
You sank my battleship! (Remember playing that?). Peter Berg (A man with his fingers dipped in many batters) presents us with yet another aliens-trying-to-take-over-earth piece. Like ALL films within the particular genre, I think you can guess the outcome: They attack, a few people die, there’s a harsh build-up – YAY…humanoids win! (BARF!)
It was pretty shocking when I heard Hasbro’s famous board-game was being turned into a film – I dare not say adaptation, because it was far from it. Truth is Hollywood loves money-makers, and wherever they feel there’s a franchise to expose and/or expl...

Review 'Battleship': Stick With The Board Game And Skip The Movie
'Battleship' directed by Peter Berg (Hancock) has a poorly constructed script, ridiculous dialogue, cardboard characters and it's really, really loud.
It does have bad ass aliens and some exciting visual effects but that is not enough to save this $200,000,000 fiasco.
When the film opens, we find out that a group of scientists in Hawaii have sent out a signal to Planet G whose atmosphere is similar to ours. They must have been thinking, "wow another planet we get to ruin." Anyway, to the scientist's surprise their signal is heard.
That's right folks...The extra terrestrials are coming ...

Battleship Director Peter Berg Challenges Reporter Over Military Service
An Israeli TV reporter was caught out by Battleship director Peter Berg when their promotional chat about the action film turned serious and the moviemaker quizzed him about his military service.
After chatting about the political situation between Israel and Iran, Berg asked reporter Jason Holt if he had served in the Israeli army - a requirement for citizens.
When the 25 year old revealed he hadn't, shocked Berg, a fellow Jew, said, "What? How did you get out of that? Are you a draft dodger?" before adding, "You better join the army motherf---er!"
Berg then asked Holt if and when he pl...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Battleship,' 'The Dictator,' & More
Last week’s Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration “Dark Shadows” turned out to be rather disappointing. The film starts out strong, but loses steam as it progresses. It has plenty of Burton’s trademark grim style with musical accompaniment by Danny Elfman, and some decent humor. However the villain is very one-dimensional, the climax is weak, and in many ways the film feels like a watered-down version of other classic Burton works like “Beetlejuice” and “Edward Scissorhands.” My Grade: C+

Rihanna & Brooklyn Decker Show A Little Leg At 'Battleship' Premiere
Yesterday the "Battleship" Los Angeles premiere was a star-studded event. Singer Rihanna, who stars in the film, wore a low-cut tantilizing white dress that showed off quite a bit of skin.
Not to be outdone, her model co-star, Brooklyn Decker, also revealed a little bit of leg on the blue carpet in a strapless gauzy gown.
Malin Akerman opted for an unusual black dress, while a very pregnant Molly Sims showed off her round belly in a geometric-patterned ensemble.
Actors Alexander Skarsgard, Liam Neeson, and Taylor Kitsch also attended the premiere.

'John Carter' Star Lynn Collins Wasn't Afraid To Show A Little Skin In Her Character's Skimpy Outfits (Pictures)
John Carter's captivating lead lady Lynn Collins, who plays the powerful princess Dejah Thoris in the film, is no stranger to showing a little flesh in her roles - but the actress recently revealed that there's a lot more to her character than just a "skin show".
To make the transformation to the beautiful Thoris before filming her scenes, the fair-skinned Collins spent five hours a day in the makeup chair getting spray tans and meticulously detailed red tattoos painted over most of her body just to bring the character to life.

Two Jews' Review 'John Carter' And Are Worlds Apart (Video)
Two Jews on Film - By Joan Alperin Schwartz: Okay, so first I have to say that I loved 'John Carter', the Disney 3D Sci-Fi adventure film directed by Andrew Stanton (WALL-E). The plot can seem slightly more complicated than it is, so I'll just give you the main points.
First, there's John Carter (the very handsome, Taylor Kitsch) a post Civil War Veteran who's absolutely fed up with war. All he wants to do is find, a certain cave, (that is supposedly filled with gold) and spend the rest of his life far far away from any kind of conflict. Good luck with that.

Lynn Collins Had A Tough Time Not Hurting People On 'John Carter' Set
Actress Lynn Collins struggled to hold back while filming fight scenes for new Disney epic "John Carter" because her childhood karate training made it a "real challenge" not to "hurt people."
The star's parents were keen martial artists and they regularly enrolled the young Collins into fight training classes in Japan while she was growing up.
She was able to draw on her karate skills for her role as Dejah Thoris, the Princess of Helium, in the upcoming sci-fi adventure - but the actress admits her years of karate became more of a burden then a blessing on set.

'John Carter' Stars Partied Every Night In Utah Motel
British actor Dominic West had the time of his life shooting new movie "John Carter" on location in Utah because he and his co-stars turned their motel into a "frathouse", holding big parties every night.

West admits there was not much to do in between filming in the picturesque state - so the cast made their own fun back at their motel.

The Umbrella hit-maker plays a tough cadet in the film, based on the game of the same name, and trained for the movie by running around a ship, swimming and weightlifting.
However, Rihanna relished her demanding work-outs - because they made her feel ready to portray a sailor.

First Trailer For Next Summer's 'Battleship' Surfaces (Watch It!)
The first trailer for Battleship has officially been released, and it looks... familiar? The film is based on the classic Hasbro game you played back when you were a kid, however that seems to be the only thing the movie and its inspiration have in common.
