'Mad Men' Co-Stars' Secret Wedding

August 6th, 2014 4:14pm EDT
Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser
Mad Men co-stars Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser didn't exactly sell their wedding photos to a magazine when they quietly tied the knot.

In fact, the pair got hitched back in June and now, almost two months later, the cat is finally out of the bag. Her rep confirms to People the two enjoyed a quiet ceremony in June after getting engaged in March of 2013.

Ironically, they met on the set of the hit AMC show and played secret lovers finding a mutual attraction outside their current marriages.

This is the first marriage for the 35-year-old Kartheiser and 32-year-old Bledel.

Alexis Bledel And Vincent Kartheiser To Tie The Knot!

March 20th, 2013 11:14am EDT
Alexis Bledel And Vincent Kartheiser
Actress Alexis Bledel is engaged to marry her former Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser.

The couple began dating last year after meeting on the set of the hit TV show, and now the actors are set to wed.

A representative for the beauty has confirmed the news to Us Weekly magazine, and a source tells the publication, "They couldn't be happier... Vincent proposed a few weeks ago. She's been wearing her ring. It's huge!"

This will be the first marriage for both - Bledel, 31, previously romanced her Gilmore Girls co-star Milo Ventimiglia, while Kartheiser was last linked to actress Rachael...

Alex Bledel Finds Love With 'Mad Men' Co-Star Vincent Kartheiser

CELEBNAME
Actress Alexis Bledel has found love with her Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser.

The Gilmore Girls star made a guest appearance on the hit TV drama as the sex-starved mistress of Kartheiser's business executive character Pete Campbell earlier this year - and the pair's onscreen chemistry has now spilled over into real life.

The 33 year old was spotted in the audience at a performance of Off-Broadway show Regrets, which features Bledel, in March, and just last week the couple was reportedly caught sharing a smooch during a Los Angeles-bound flight from New York.

A source tells Us Weekly ...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'The Other Woman,' Joan's Sacrifice And Peggy's Bombshell

May 28th, 2012 6:03pm EDT
Mad Men
Who do you think is the identity of ‘The Other Woman’? Is it Joan, who offers herself to another man for enough money to change her life? Is it Peggy, who is in some way Don’s emotional mistress? Is it Pete’s love affair with Manhattan? Or is it Jaguar, that thing of beauty that can at last be truly owned?

Joan and Jaguar’s stories are intertwined. Don and his staff (excluding Peggy, who is in charge of all other accounts) are struggling to come up with a memorable and sellable tagline. It’s decided that the luxury car should be viewed as a mistress of sorts, but should never be mentioned ...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Christmas Waltz,' Flirting And Back Taxes

May 21st, 2012 7:18pm EDT
'Mad Men'
Is it just me, or is ‘Christmas Waltz’ one of the weakest ‘Mad Men’ episodes all season? It’s not because of the characters featured (Harry, Joan and Lane, primarily). I think it’s because one gets the sense that this episode is moving the show along toward the season finale, but as a dramatic arc in itself, it falls flat.

Let’s look back at what happens. Lane is informed by his attorney in England that he owes a crapload of back taxes. Lane panics and resorts to desperate measures. He gets SCDP’s bank manager to extend $50,000 in credit, then tells the execs that a $50,000 surplus should ...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Dark Shadows' And Desperation All Around

May 14th, 2012 8:57pm EDT
January Jones
In ‘Dark Shadows,’ Betty grows jealous and irritable while trying to watch her weight, Pete fantasizes about a virtual stranger amid his failures, and Don does something almost as underhanded as Betty. You know the end of the season is approaching when characters get evermore desperate.

Let’s start with Betty. She’s faithfully attending Weight Watchers meetings and seems slimmer since the last time we saw her. It’s clearly a strain on her: She catches herself spraying whipped cream into her mouth straight out of the fridge and results to telling Sally one of Don’s secrets out of jealousy ...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Lady Lazarus' And Office Angst

May 7th, 2012 8:26pm EDT
Mad Men
There’s a lot of angst at the heart of ‘Lady Lazarus.’ Megan can’t stand advertising and yearns to return to acting; Pete is apparently unhappy in his marriage and seeks another lover; and Peggy grows upset about Megan’s departure and the way she thinks Don takes it out on her.

Let’s back up. Megan is downright secretive throughout the first half of the episode. She’s clearly hiding something from everyone, but just what is unclear until Peggy catches her in a lie. Megan tells Don that she’s working late, but then tells Peggy that Don wants her home for dinner. A flustered Peggy avoids mul...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Signal 30' And Pete's Downward Spiral

April 16th, 2012 8:27pm EDT
Mad Men
“I have everything,” Pete Campbell says to himself in ‘Signal 30.’ And by the finale, the petals have certainly fallen off the rose.

All seems to be going well for him. He’s attracted to a young student in his driver’s ed class, where they both laugh at the instructional video (titled ‘Signal 30’); he feels like a handyman after he fixes a leaky faucet in the middle of the night; and Don finally “accepts” his invitation to come over for dinner (“Accepts” meaning he calls to cancel, but Trudy won’t let him out of it).

Ken, meanwhile, somewhat secretly disses Peggy at a café, where she thin...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Tea Leaves' - Betty Has Weight And Health Issues

April 2nd, 2012 8:05pm EDT
Mad Men
Here are two words I never thought would go together on ‘Mad Men’: Fat Betty. Unseen in the season premiere, Betty has indeed plumped up. She’s clearly upset about it and doesn’t seem to know what to do with herself. Her mother unhelpfully suggests she try diet pills, while her doctor at first tells her that sudden weight gain is a common problem for bored housewives. What a simple explanation.

But then he finds a lump in Betty’s throat, and then “Betty might have thyroid cancer” lingers through the episode. In the end, she apparently finds out she doesn’t have it and tells her husband she...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'A Little Kiss'

March 26th, 2012 5:24pm EDT
Mad Men
After shrouds of secrecy and an agonizing 17-month wait, ‘Mad Men’ returned to the airwaves on Sunday with an episode titled ‘A Little Kiss.’ And it was worth the wait for fans to pucker up.

For ‘Mad Men’ watchers wondering how far in the future the plot would pick up, the question was answered fairly quickly. At Don and Megan’s new digs, Don’s three kids sit on bar stools for breakfast. Gene looks to be about two to three, so we can guess the action is perhaps a few months to a year or so into the future.

Betty is nowhere to be seen, although Don does drop the kids off at her ginormous h...

March 20th, 2012 5:00pm EDT
Mad Men
If you’re trying to find out about the new season of Mad Men, the TV ads won’t help much. One teaser has the boys of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce discuss the preposterous notion of anti-smoking campaigns. Other spots don’t even have any dialogue.

Of course the plot details are meant to be a secret, and Jon Hamm did a good job keeping series creator Matthew Weiner’s secrets. At a cocktail reception for the Television Critics Association, Hamm joked about possible spoilers for the show’s fifth season. Mad Men returns Sunday.

Q: What can you say about the new season?

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Tomorrowland'

October 18th, 2010 9:24pm EDT
Betty
I’ve come to expect a lot from ‘Mad Men’ finales. As I’ve said before, ‘Mad Men’ is a show in which not a lot happens – but everything usually bubbles up at the end of the season, and the finales tend to hit it out of the park. Just think back on the Emmy-winning Season 3 finale, “Shut the Door. Have a Seat.” that set up the formation of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. It left the viewer captivated and dazed to have to wait several months to see where the action picked up.

Well, ‘Tomorrowland’ – the Season 4 finale – doesn’t live up to the hype. It may be the most disappointed I’ve ever...

'Mad Men' Recap: Blowing Smoke

October 12th, 2010 8:45am EDT
Betty
“They can smell it on us” – desperation, that is. The senior officers of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce know the bind they’re in – everyone in town knows they’ve lost 50% of their business, and no one wants to give them a job. The Heinz rep Faye hooked Don up with tells him, “I bet I could get a date with your mother right now” in response to Don’s surprisingly pathetic pleas. Ouch.

Speaking of pathetic, let’s get this out of the way: Don’s Ghost of Christmas Past materializes in the form of Midge, his mistress way back in Season One. (If by “mistress” you don’t have it narrowed down, pi...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Chinese Wall'

Pete
Who was more pathetic in this episode of 'Mad Men' - Don or Roger? Don was up to his old tricks, so I'd vote Roger, who has reached a (scary) new low. Don reached a new low this season, and apparently so has Roger. But is he as resilient?

We learned last week from Lee Garner Jr. that Lucky Strike is striking out with Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. But Roger is the only person with that knowledge - until now. Ken hears the news at a dinner with his fiance and her parents, from a competitor, no less. Ken wastes no time, cornering Pete in the hospital during Trudy's (long) labor. Cooper...

The "Alpha Dog" co-stars are teaming up again for an upcoming as-yet-untilted project, in which all the characters stop ageing at 25.

And Wilde, 29, will take on the role of 29-year-old Timberlake's mother.

The film will also act as a reunion of the cast of 2006's "Alpha Dog," Timberlake and Wilde will also be joined by former colleagues Amanda Seyfried and Vincent Kartheiser for the movie.

'Mad Men' Recap: 'The Beautiful Girls'

Mad Men The Beautiful Girls
This episode strongly features two favorite 'Mad Men' female characters: Don's daughter Sally and his unapologetic secretary Ida. Unfortunately, neither of them have a good time during this episode, but they are great fun to watch.

Let's start with Ida. After having some more good one-liners (to Don: "Are you going to the toilet??" and about Sally: "She looks so chubby in the pictures...") she dies so fast she doesn't even time to drop dead. Instead her head rolls back, her mouth agape, dark glasses pointed at the ceiling. The scene that ensues, featuring Pete attempting to wrap Ida's ...

'Mad Men' Recap: 'Waldorf Stories'

Mad Men
It's fitting that while Mad Men was presented with its third consecutive Emmy win for Best Drama Series on Sunday, in "Waldorf Stories," airing at the same time, Don Draper took home a Clio for best ad. Somehow, Mad Men's acceptance of its award was more graceful than Don could hope to be. More on that in a minute.

This episode featured many intricate plots. First, the flashbacks: Don, a fur salesman, approaches Roger about contributing to the firm. He invites him out for a drink (Roger's "At 10 o'clock in the morning?" response is both ironic and pathetic). Clearly these two are a match m...

Our Favorite TV Ensembles

June 12th, 2008 9:00am EDT
Lost
An ensemble cast is a group of actors in which each character/actor is assigned an equal level of importance to the story. Sometimes even if there is an established "main character," a show can be considered an ensemble because individuals are treated with the same care and development as everyone else on the show.

This sort of cast style gives the audience a chance to connect with several different characters rather than just one; if a viewer does not like one of the characters or cannot relate to them, there will be several more to choose from. It creates very broad storylines and v...

Leave Them Hanging: Favorite TV Cliffhangers

Television is a medium that thrives on manipulating audiences into tuning in, and no narrative device is more effective at accomplishing that task than the cliffhanger. With the end of the 2007-08 season rapidly approaching and new cliffhangers waiting in the wings, we have decided to celebrate our favorites from years past.

5) The Simpsons: "Who Shot Mr. Burns?"

The Cliffhanger: It didn't provoke quite the fervor of the "Dallas" storyline that it parodied, but this two-part episode did warrant a special "America's Most Wanted" and was discussed often during the summer of 19...
