Heroes star Jimmy Jean-Louis was filled with relief upon discovering his parents are alive in Haiti after days of desperately trying to contact them following Tuesday's devastating earthquake.

The actor managed to locate his elderly mother on Thursday, who he had not heard from since the massive tremor rocked his native country, and she informed him of his father's well being.

Jimmy Jean-Louis Pleads For Earthquake Help
Heroes star Jimmy Jean-Louis has urged fans to help his fellow Haitians devastated by the earthquake which struck the Caribbean nation on Tuesday. As many as 500,000 people are feared dead following the quake, which measured 7.3 on the Richter scale and reduced much of the poverty-stricken country to rubble.

Heroes actor Jimmy Jean-Louis has set up a new charity to rescue kids from exploitation in his native Haiti.

I Too Am Haiti is a collaboration between Jean-Louis, who plays The Haitian in the hit series, and the Pan American Development Foundation. Campaign leaders hope to raise awareness and funds for the estimated 200,000 child victims of trafficking, forced labor and exploitation in the poverty-stricken nation.
