Samuel L. Jackson has stepped up to defend director Quentin Tarantino over the racially-charged language in his acclaimed new movie Django Unchained.
The movie, which is nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Screenplay, is set in slavery-era Mississippi in 1858 and has drawn heavy criticism as well as praise.
Many critics have accused Tarantino of over-using controversial language and racial slurs, and even fellow director Spike Lee branded the movie "disrespectful" and vowed to boycott it.

Anne Hathaway And Samuel L. Jackson Have A 'Sad Off' To Promote 'Les Mis' & 'Django Unchained'
Anne Hathaway and Samuel L. Jackson star in a hilarious new Funny or Die! video promoting their new films, Les Miserables and Django Unchained, respectively.
The two stars, wearing t-shirts to promote their respective movies (and Jackson wearing a sweet holiday version of his signature Kangol hat), begin by telling viewers that it's "important to remember the more upbeat aspects of the season" -- as opposed to the dramatic, "bleak" themes of Django and Les Mis.
Then it gets ugly as both stars square off over whose film is sadder.

'The Dictator' And 15 Other Beards That Steal Movies
Sacha Baron Cohen brings his trademark ridicu-shock humor to his new film "The Dictator," but it may be his beard that steals the show.
He plays Admiral General Aladeen, deposed dictator of the (fictional) Republic of Wadiya, who flees to the U.S. when his country converts to democracy. As a dictator, he's used to ruling with an iron fist, an incorrigible sense of righteous cruelty, and a thick, bushy beard that could house several terrified baby sparrows.
Aladeen may feel like a fish out of water in New York City, but he'd feel right at home among Hollywood's most magnificent beards of a...

Best On-Screen Crime Fighting Duos
Everyone loves a hero. They stand up for what’s right, battle the forces of evil, and somehow manage to look sexy in spandex. But sometimes one hero isn’t enough. Sometimes the problem is too great for any one man (or Superman) to handle. Sometimes audiences want to hear a dick-joke while justice is being served. That’s where Dynamic Duos come in. Two heroes, paired together, fighting the good fight and keeping us laughing the whole way through. That’s what audiences love more than anything. To honor the release of Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, let’s take a look at the best on-screen cr...

Blu-ray Interview: Oscar Nominee Robert Forster Jives About Jackie Brown, Being Max Cherry and Going Slow For David Lynch
Other then the obvious lure of Quentin Tarantino himself, ardent movie fans would be hard pressed to argue that the calm cool of Robert Forster’s Max Cherry isn’t the real icing on "Jackie Brown’s" lovingly layered cake. As the very thoughtful ying to Pam Grier’s cunning yang, Forster gives such a pitch perfect portrayal of a humble aging bail bondsman that he even nabbed a well-deserved Oscar nomination for his movie-stealing work. Having seen early Forster roles in films like "Reflections in a Golden Eye," "Medium Cool" and even "Alligator," movie freak Tarantino knew that the underused...
