March 8th, 2013 11:10am EST
Secret Admirer
I’ll let you in on a little secret – most of the flicks that are released in the first few months of the year are placed there for a reason.  Want another secret – I’m here to help your mundane movie going with...Forgotten Friday Flick!  This week we’re all about secrets as we check out a simple tale that on its surface may seem like a basic comedy of errors, but with the help of great acting, a killer cast and hilarity and hijinks beyond the norm it’s so much more.  Plus being a product of the 80’s the film is even considered by some to be a teen sex comedy of sorts – complete with just a ...

July 20th, 2011 3:37pm EDT
The Amazing Spider-Man
The first teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, has officially arrived - and it looks really good, but also really familiar.

The film, which is still almost a year off, is a re-boot of the Spider-Man franchise that began in 2002 and ended in 2010 when director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire quit over issues with the script of then-planned Spider-Man 4.

So the studio forged ahead with a new telling of the story, which, according to this teaser, is basically the same story we got back in 2002 - only this time there's more focus on Spidey honin...

with "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," and gets generally freaked out by "The Vanishing."

October 15 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

The culture behind "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has always sort of lingered on the edge of my awareness. I knew it was there, I knew people liked it and I knew it involved dressing in drag and spanking each othe...

April 23rd, 2009 2:21pm EDT
Southland
The immediate fate of NBC's heralded Thursday night 10 pm slot seems to be in stable, if not extraordinary, hands; Southland provides a gripping snapshot of the life of a Los Angeles police officer.
