'The White Shadow' Star Ken Howard Dies

Actor Ken Howard Dies At 71
Actor and SAG-AFTRA president Ken Howard passed away on Wednesday at the age of 71. The cause of his death has not yet been released, and he is survived by his third wife, Linda Fetters.

A California native, Howard won a Tony Award in 1970 before making his movie into films and television. In 1978, he landed the starring role in the CBS drama The White Shadow, playing Ken Reeves, a former NBA player who becomes the head basketball coach at a predominantly African-American and Hispanic high school. The series lasted for three seasons until 1981.

Hallmark Channel Greenlights New Productions

RHI Entertainment has received the greenlight to produce no less than 12 original television movies and three miniseries for a 2007 delivery to the Hallmark Channel. The first three of these telefilms are currently in production on the West Coast.
