'Who Framed Roger Rabbit,' 'Hook' Star Bob Hoskins Dies At 71

British actor Bob Hoskins passed away on Tuesday evening after suffering from pneumonia.

The star, who had stepped away from acting after announcing he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2012, was 71.

Hoskins was best known for his role as Eddie Valiant in 1989's Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and he also played Mr. Smee in Peter Pan sequel "Hook" in 1991, reprising the role for the 2011 SyFy Pan prequel "Neverland."

Scottish actor and comedian Billy Connolly revealed today that he is receiving treatment for Parkinson's disease. There is no cure for the disease, which includes symptoms such as tremors and slowness of movement.

More than 1.5 million people in the United States have been diagnosed with the disease, according to The American Parkinson Disease Association.

The progressive disorder develops gradually, sometimes as just a small tremor in one hand. It also causes stiffness or soft and slurred speach, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Veteran British actor Bob Hoskins is retiring from acting after learning he is battling Parkinson's disease.

The 69 year old's representative announced the news on Wednesday, revealing the actor was diagnosed with the same degenerative condition as Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox last year.

Filming on Snow White And The Huntsman was cut short on Tuesday after Kristen Stewart was injured on the set.

The Twilight actress plays the lead role in the upcoming fantasy film, alongside a star-studded cast including Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Bob Hoskins.

Stewart has been filming scenes for the movie this week, but she abandoned the shoot after sustaining a mystery injury.

Actor Max Manganello, who plays a soldier in the film, told his Twitter.com fans on Tuesday morning, "It's a wrap for today. Kristen has hurt herself... nothing scary. We shoot on Friday."
