'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Derailed' - Cylons, Trains And Fake NTSB Agents

February 19th, 2015 9:32am EST
'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Derailed' - Cylons, Trains And Fake N
Suits is breaking all kinds of ground this season. After Gabriel Macht made his directorial debut with "Enough is Enough," now it's Patrick J. Adams' turn to step behind the camera for "Derailed," which continues the plotline established in "Respect" while continuing to manipulate the various secrets kept by our main characters to show us more about them for another week. But is its big plot twist the right call?

Mike and Rachel's domestic happiness is spoiled once again, this time by Henry Gerard (Stephen Macht) asking for a meeting, immediately and with no explanation. He tells Mike that...

Check Out An Exclusive Clip From Tonight's 'Suits'
As if you needed any more reasons to get excited about tonight's new episode of Suits - besides that Patrick J. Adams is directing and that Tricia Helfer is also guest-starring - we've got an exclusive clip from "Derailed" to add to your anticipation.

While Mike (Adams) takes on a case that gives Harvey (Gabriel Macht) second thoughts, elsewhere in the Pearson Specter Litt building, Louis (Rick Hoffman) is finding out that just because you're called a name partner doesn't mean that everyone else is going to respect you like one.

In the clip below, Louis angrily confronts Jessica (Gina Tor...

'Suits' Recap: 'Fork In The Road' - Let's Do The Flashback Again

February 12th, 2015 10:43am EST
'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Fork In The Road' - Let's Do The Flas
The flashback episode has become something of an institution on Suits, and "Fork in the Road" is the series' latest attempt to show us something insightful about the characters' present by going back into their past. This time, it's understanding the acrimony that led us to the firm's latest upheaval by showing us how Harvey and Louis got at each other's throats in the first place.

But first, here's Rachel taking Donna out for drinks and Game of Thrones references. Really, she wants to let Donna know how Louis wants to repair their friendship. Elsewhere, Harvey and Jessica are drinking too...

'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Enough Is Enough' - King Of The Firm

'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Enough Is Enough' - King Of The Firm
Suits is back and boldly going where it was likely headed all along. With Louis Litt, the man everyone's disrespected and dismissed, being involuntarily given his key to the kingdom, things are once again being shaken up at New York's premier law firm. And we don't just mean the signage getting changed on the wall again.

The action picks up almost right where it left off last fall. Harvey might be breaking the speed limit as he returns to the office in the middle of the night, having been summoned back by Jessica to deal with Louis. She breaks the news that Louis's name is going up on the ...

8 Potential Breakout Stars In Television

8 Potential Breakout Stars In Television
You know them: the actor who's really good at what they do, but for whatever reason, doesn't get as much attention as they deserve. Maybe they're on a show that doesn't have a huge audience. Maybe they get less screen time than their costars. Maybe they ought to have won several awards by now and they've never even been nominated. But you love watching them every week, and you just wish everyone else would give them more respect already.

The 2014-2015 TV season has quite a few of those actors, several of whom are poised to break through to bigger story arcs and wider acclaim. Whether they'...

Rick Hoffman Previews Tonight's 'Suits' Finale: 'This Is Definitely The Episode To Watch'

August 20th, 2014 3:10pm EDT
Suits
Has Louis Litt really left the building? After the events of last week's episode of Suits, it's hard to believe that the lawyer we loved to hate (and secretly loved) has fallen so far in season four. But there's still one more episode to go - tonight's midseason finale.

So we spoke to Louis himself, Rick Hoffman, on Wednesday morning to discuss filming the big moment in "Gone," what he thinks of the dynamics at Pearson Hardman, and how Louis is going to come back...right?

(SPOILER ALERT - If you're not caught up with last week's episode of Suits, and/or don't want to know absolutely anyth...

Rick Hoffman On 'Suits' Season 4: 'I'm Having A Blast'

June 11th, 2014 12:15pm EDT
Rick Hoffman
Suits is returning tonight with a top-notch season premiere - and before we get too ahead of ourselves, we recently asked series star Rick Hoffman for his perspective on what's ahead, as well as what he thought of the turbulent way his character Louis Litt ended the third season.

Louis got a particularly rough break at the end of the third season, as the episode "Heartburn" saw him suffer a likely long overdue heart attack, then become engaged to longtime love Sheila (recurring guest star Rachael Harris), only for her to break off the engagement when they disagreed over whether or not to s...

Sarah Rafferty: Meet TV's Top (and Most-Talked About) Assistant

August 16th, 2012 11:15am EDT
Sarah Rafferty
They say you never know what you've got until it's gone. That could apply to USA's Suits: ever since complex, sassy and deeply loyal assistant Donna Paulsen was fired from Pearson Hardman, the audience has been up in arms and the series hasn't been the same. It's not hard to see why Donna has captured the hearts of Suits fans and fans of good TV alike.

She's played by Sarah Rafferty, one of television's top actresses.

The role of Donna has brought plenty of deserved attention for the veteran actress. It's the part that many women would kill for: a great wardrobe, plenty of sharp dial...

'Suits' Recap and Review: 'She Knows' (2.01)

June 14th, 2012 10:35pm EDT
Suits
Suits left us with a near-perfect season finale. It's a difficult act to follow up a great episode - but damned if this show doesn't come back with an equally fantastic second-season premiere.

As we rejoin Mike, he's nervous as hell because he's been invited to dinner by Jessica. He's convinced that means she knows his secret, until Harvey tells him that each of the last five senior partners was taken to dinner by Jessica when they were first-year associates. "We can discuss the prom at recess," Harvey adds, more interested in a pending merger he's working on.

Flash-forward: Mik...

The 11 Best From 2011

December 31st, 2011 11:00am EST
Southland
2011 was a fantastic year for entertainment. Here are my eleven favorite things from the year that's about to wrap, in chronological order...

1. Southland, TNT

(Season 3 began January 4)

I have to admit that I didn't keep up with TNT's gritty Los Angeles cop drama as much as I would have liked; it fell victim to sharing Tuesday nights with three other shows on my watch list. Yet when I did find time to catch it, I was no less than impressed every time.

There's been talk about the show's TV-MA content (allegedly the reason that NBC axed it), but the real talking point should be the st...

Gabriel Macht: The Smartest Actor On Television

December 1st, 2011 11:00am EST
Suits
Gabriel Macht is a genius.

It isn't in the conventional sense. Measuring him by his IQ - whatever that may be - wouldn't do him justice. Neither would examining his lengthy filmography of over twenty years. Yet spend a few minutes in his company, and it becomes quickly apparent that he is brilliant. It's in his verbal acuity, which would make many professional writers envious. It's in the thought he gives to even the most casual of conversations. He's just plain smarter than you or me.

He's not the type to need to prove that to anyone. Yet with the success of USA Network's original...

Q&A: 'Suits' Star Patrick J. Adams Returns To The Stage In '9 Circles'

November 10th, 2011 11:00am EST
Patrick J. Adams
You know him as Mike Ross on USA's new hit original series Suits. As fantastic as he is on that show, that's just one part of what the multitalented Patrick J. Adams is up to. He's currently on stage starring in the Bootleg Theater production of Bill Cain's 9 Circles, extended through November 19.

And in January, you'll see him in an ensemble cast including Dustin Hoffman in the HBO horse-racing drama Luck, written by David Milch (Deadwood) and directed by Michael Mann (Heat).

Whether it's breaking new ground as the star of a TV series, starring and producing in a play, or fitting ...

'Suits' 1.12 'Dogfight' Review

September 10th, 2011 3:21am EDT
Suits
The last four episodes of Suits have been the best scripted TV I've seen all summer. The accomplishment also raised my expectations for the season finale - expectations which were met in an hour that seemed to slide the last pieces into place.

Picking up where "Rules of the Game" left off, "Dogfight" sees Harvey try to free the innocent Clifford Danner (Neil Brown, Jr.) from prison, while Mike tries to keep a handle on his messy personal life. One of them succeeds, and the other, not so much. What that gives us is an episode that pays off last week's plot development in fine fashi...

'Suits' 1.11 'Rules of the Game' Review

September 1st, 2011 11:06pm EDT
Suits
Suits, you are a crafty little show. Last week, you showed me where your characters were heading; this week, you showed me where my favorite has been, and yanked pretty damn hard on my heartstrings besides. I didn't know I liked you this much until you punched me in the stomach. Ow.

Harvey - who makes one of the most awesome entrances in my recent memory in this episode - is reunited with his former boss, Cameron Dennis (the underrated Gary Cole). The chummy meeting reveals what was apparently a secret: that prior to joining Pearson Hardman, Harvey was a district attorney. When h...

Q&A: 'Suits' Star Gabriel Macht Digs Into Harvey Specter

September 1st, 2011 4:15pm EDT
Suits
Manhattan attorney Harvey Specter may be a piece of work, but that just shows how excellent Gabriel Macht is at his job. The Suits star has all of his alter ego's brain and none of the...well, ego. In fact, he's one of the most endearing, articulate and thoughtful actors I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. As we enjoy the last two episodes of season one (beginning tonight at 10 PM ET/PT on USA), I had the pleasure of talking with Gabriel about what's upcoming and what he's taken away from playing summer TV's most intriguing character.

Summer Lovin': Two New Summer Shows To Love

August 31st, 2011 3:00pm EDT

There’s nothing I love more than being swept off my pop culture-lovin’ feet by a new television series. For this television-aholic, it feels like being given an invitation to an exhilarating alternate reality, and I have this lovin' feeling for two summer shows. I worship them so much that I’m not even obsessing about the impending start of the fall season (Kidding, less than three weeks, people!).

Here are two shows that I’m head-over-heels for. One is a sophisticated legal drama set in the core of the Big Apple, another is a guilty-pleasure reality show about a real basketball wife.

'Suits' 1.10 'The Shelf Life' Review

August 25th, 2011 11:05pm EDT
Suits
I liken my relationship with Suits to...well, a relationship. After a long courtship, the show finally won me over last week, and now I'm waiting to see how the second date goes before I commit.

Harvey's tasked with engineering the firing of a senior VP at Pearson Hardman's accounting firm, being that Stan (played by Enterprise star John Billingsley) lied on his resume and doesn't even have a CPA - something that sounds more than a little familiar. It's hard for Mike not to see himself in the good-natured bookkeeper, who quickly suspects a conspiracy when Mike points out that the bac...

The producer films the illegal event, airing the killings live and uncensored onto the internet. Vinnie Jones and Rick Hoffman co-star.
