Birth Name: Omari Hardwick
Born: 01/09/1974
Birth Place: Savannah, Georgia, USA

Omari Hardwick was a fierce sports player, playing football at the University of Georgia, which fielded a powerhouse team for many decades. However, he also had a softer side, including writing a lot of poetry, and it was that aspect that helped lead him into acting. He did give pro football a shot, only to see his nascent career cut short by a knee injury in training camp with the San Diego Chargers. Hardwick got a really big break by being cast in Spike Lee's TV Movie "Sucker-Free City" (2003). This led to him acting full-time in '04, appearing in movies like "The A-Team" (2010) and TV shows like "Saved" (TNT 2006) and "Dark Blue" (TNT 2009-10). After a couple of seasons as a regular alongside Gabrielle Union on the series "Being Mary Jane" (BET 2013- ), Hardwick had finally seized a lead role on a TV show, "Power" (STARZ 2014). He landed the starring role as James "Ghost" St. Patrick, a well-known nightclub owner who led a double life as the head of a drug cartel.
