The actress' image as 'Mary Poppins' author P.L. Travers opposite Tom Hanks in the movie - which tells the true story of Walt Disney's battle to bring the novel to the big screen - was very prim and proper, which she admitted was a "nightmare".
She told Parade magazine: "It was a nightmare! People would bleat in the streets as I went by. I didn't have sex for six months!"
Although the movie was a retelling of Walt's campaign to adapt the book into a musical, many of Emma's roles have focused on love.

He said: "As a grandparent you see no reason that your granddaughter shouldn't be delighted to take a ride on the Winnie the Pooh Adventure. I thought, 'It's Winnie the Pooh. Its Kanga and Roo and Owl. It's Christopher Robin. It's fun! It's going to ...

Review: 'Saving Mr. Banks' Doesn't Need Any Saving - It's Perfect!

December 12th, 2013 8:45pm EST
Saving Mr. Banks

How a person feels about a particular film has nothing to do with whether it's good or bad; whether the critics love it or hate it or what your friends say about it. It's your own personal experience that counts. Some films just work for you and others don't. It's the same with art, music, and theatre - no matter how much you argue with someone over the merits of a certain film - it's not going to change the kind of experience you have.

That being said, I absolutely loved every second of 'Saving Mr. Banks' directed by John Lee Hancock ('The Blindside'). From the brilliant performances o...

The Oscar winner was unfortunately too busy with work to celebrate his 25-year wedding anniversary with Rita, 57, when the date came around recently.

Saving Mr. Banks tells the story of the making of Mary Poppins. Tom Hanks plays Walt Disney himself and Emma Thompson plays Poppins author P.L. Travers, who fought Disney on making the film a musical and including animation.
