Many critics are questioning the selection of deceased stars who made the cut to be featured in last night's In Memoriam tribute at the Oscars.

Some huge names were left off the list, while many with tenuous connections to Hollywood were listed. We absolutely love Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, but why was he on the list over someone like Andy Griffith?

The Oscars always puts itself in an awkward position when it comes to selecting who makes the broadcast. To be fair, they now list everyone online in a special section, but sometimes that isn't good enough for the fans.

Legendary television star Andy Griffith's death occurred as the result of complications from a heart attack, according to his death certificate.

The actor suffered the heart attack at about 7:00 a.m. Monday morning and died nearly 24 hours later. Griffith had a history of other heart-related ailments, including coronary artery disease, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

The actor died with his wife Cindi at his side, according to a statement from his family.

Andy Griffith Laid To Rest Just Hours After Passing

TV icon Andy Griffith, who passed away at the age of 86 Tuesday morning, has already been laid to rest. The star was buried on his family farm in Roanoke Island, North Carolina.

A representative from the Twiford Funeral Home in Manteo, NC, confirmed the burial, which occurred less than five hours after his death, as per his wishes.

During the early hours of the morning an ambulance was called to Griffith's home and he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to TMZ.com.

Close friends and family attended the small, private service held prior to the burial.

Legendary TV star Andy Griffith died at his North Carolina home at the age of 86.

News station WITN reports that Griffith's close friend Bill Friday, once president at the star's alma mater of the University of North Carolina, confirmed Griffith's death; saying the actor passed away at his Dare County home at about 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Comedic actor George Lindsey died at the age of 83 in Nashville, TN, early Sunday morning after battling a brief illness.

Lindsey is most famous for playing the slow-witted Goober Beasley on CBS's popular TV sitcom "The Andy Griffith Show" in the 1960s. Lindsey's character was soon renamed Goober Pyle, and he became known for his bad impression of Cary Grant and his outrageous Goober Dance, keeping up the antics for the comedy's successor "Mayberry R.F.D.," which ran until 1971.
