NBC Fall Season Preview: Spies, CIA Plots And Outsourcing

September 20th, 2010 11:45am EDT
NBC Fall Preview
NBC is likely getting tired of being referred to as "fourth place NBC." Last year's Jay Leno experiment was clearly a disaster and served as a boon for TBS, which won the Conan sweepstakes. This fall, NBC has fresher programming. With aging favorites and risky new underdogs, does the network have a shot at moving up the ratings ladder, even to third place? Time will tell. Stranger things have happened. Here's a look at what new shows could make the grade and what's in store for old favorites.

Dancing With The Stars
This week the nine remaining contestants on Dancing With The Stars had to prove their resilience while performing either the Paso Doble or the Viennese waltz.

Chuck Wicks and partner/girlfriend Julianne Hough had the chance to perform a romantic Viennese waltz this week. Judge Len Goodman thought that Chuck had finally come out of his hibernation and performed much better than the previous weeks. Bruno Tonioli encouraged Chuck to keep his confidence all the way through his routine to earn a better score. But, Carrie Ann Inaba said he lost focus while dancing and that it didn't come tog...

'Dancing With The Stars' Awards The Season's First Perfect 30

March 31st, 2009 8:47am EDT
Dancing With The Stars
Dancing With The Stars finally broke the point barrier and gave three stars the highly coveted ten. The show not only gave out this season's first perfect thirty, but also introduced the audience to two new dances - The Lindy Hop and the Argentine Tango. The Lindy Hop is similar to the jitterbug in its playfulness with flicks and kicks and lifts. The Argentine Tango is a dance of passion and sensuality. Also, based on Monday's performances, two stars will be going home Tuesday in a double elimination.

David Alan Grier and partner Kym Johnson were up first dancing the Lindy hop. David ...

'Dancing With The Stars' - Denise Bombs; Shawn, Gilles & Melissa Blow Everyone Away

March 24th, 2009 8:40am EDT
Dancing With The Stars
It's the third week of Dancing With The Stars; the judges already have their favorites and those who they can barely tolerate. But every week something changes the contest, just a little bit.

This week, Denise Richards, who has fared pretty average the past few weeks, fell from grace. After performing her samba, Carrie Ann Inaba thought that Denise looked frightened to death. Len Goodman explained that the samba is one of the most difficult dances, but that Denise lacked the Latin kick that the dance needed. Bruno Tonioli said her routine was flat and full of holes. Not much worked out...

It's round two of "injured celebrities who try to dance!" I mean, Dancing With The Stars. This week more contestants were dealing with injury and insult.

Up first, Jewel's replacement, Holly Madison with partner Dmitry Chaplin. Holly performed the quickstep and said she was going for this week's "most improved" dancer. Len Goodman commented that her bust was too big and it led to some bad posture. Bruno Tonioli said she looked like she was chasing after a bus her legs were so frantic, and Carrie Ann Inaba felt like Holly and Dmitry didn't do equal work dancing. She got three 6's which ...
