Hugh Jackman's robot boxing film "Real Steel" fought off competition to debut at the top of the U.S. box office, raking in $27. 3 million over the weekend.
George Clooney and Ryan Gosling's highly-anticipated political drama "The Ides of March" premiered at second place with takings of $10.4 million, while last week's box office winner "Dolphin Tale" fell to third place after grossing $9.2 million.
Rounding out the top five were Brad Pitt's baseball movie "Moneyball" ($7.5 million) and cancer comedy "50/50" ($5.5 million) at fourth and fifth place respectively.
