June 6th, 2014 4:00am EDT
(Review) 'Edge Of Tomorrow' - Reliving A The Same Day Has Never
'Edge Of Tomorrow' starring Tom Cruise, is a sci-fi thriller that takes place in the near future. When the film opens, we find out that an alien race known as Mimics have invaded the Earth, wiping out millions. So far, they are unbeatable.

Cruise plays Major William Cage, a slick public relations officer in the U. S. army, a post he took up after his advertising company went belly up. An alien invasion could do that.

He's never seen a day of combat. His job is to put a 'good spin' on our war with the space invaders and get people to join the military and fight. Because he's done such...

2009 Primetime Emmy Awards Mega Diary

September 21st, 2009 9:55am EDT
Neil Patrick Harris
Ah, the Emmys. The one Awards show on TV that has a nonchalant attitude toward its honorees and the medium it seeks to honor. A ceremony that seeks to put on a funny show, not blow smoke up the behinds of the many winners mostly seem like they'd rather not be there.

Sure, the last couple years were awful, but this year we have the inimitable Neil Patrick Harris at the helm, and with the possibility that this may be Emmy's final year on broadcast television, they're certain to pull out all the stops and ratchet up the funny.

And with that stellar introduction, here is the 2009 Primet...

'In Bruges:' A Dark Comedy Full Of Twists

February 4th, 2008 12:39pm EST
In Bruges
"In Bruges" is a movie that is good but not great. That might be the most vague and un-insightful explanation for a film, but trust me it fits and I'll explain why.

The movie works around a main dilemma: two big city hit men are sent to hide out from a hit gone wrong in the boring tourist trap that is Bruges, Belgium. Colin Farrell plays Ray, a young troublemaker who hates the city, tourists and pretty much everything about what is going on in his life. Brendan Gleeson plays Ken, the older, wiser, calmer hit man who is enjoying the city and in the process makes the trip worse for Ra...
