Kiele Sanchez
Over the weekend actor Zach Gilford married his actress girlfriend Kiele Sanchez. According to Zap2It.com, the "Friday Night Lights" star tied the knot with Sancez on Saturday.

Few details about the ceremony have been revealed, but Gilford revealed earlier this year the couple was planning an enchanting wedding, telling E! News, "We found a magical, magical place to get married and I'm excited. It is going to be cool."

Gilford and Sanchez began dating after they appeared together in 2010 TV movie "Matadors." Since his stint on "Friday Night Lights," Gilford has appeared in a string of can...

Four Reasons to Give 'The Mob Doctor' A Second Chance

October 8th, 2012 1:50pm EDT
The Mob Doctor
One of the biggest things I’ve learned in life is never to give much weight to first impressions. If I did, I wouldn’t have ever hung out with a girl who came to be my best friend in high school, and a pretty good one today as I thought she was a tree-hugging weirdo and she thought I was stuck up. Both judgments couldn’t be further from the truth. This is the same reason why I give new television shows three chances to hook me. I’m so grateful that I have, otherwise I would have given up on some pretty spectacular shows, the most recent being Fox’s "The Mob Doctor" before the freshman d...

Celebrities That Turn 30 in 2012
It's hard to believe for many of us the 1982 was 30 years ago. In that year, Ronald Reagan was President, Joe Montana was the Superbowl XVI MVP and the space shuttle Columbia made its first mission.

In movies, E.T., Tootsie and Gandhi ruled the box office while Chariots of Fire took best picture at the Academy Awards that year. Also taking home Oscar gold for best actor and actress in 1982 respectively were Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda for On Golden Pond. In music Michael Jackson released Thriller which sold more than 25 million copies, becoming the biggest selling album in history.

TV On DVD: 'Off The Map: The Complete Series'

August 25th, 2011 3:15pm EDT
Off The Map
This week, ABC Home Entertainment released the complete series of Off The Map, the next show from the people who brought you Grey's Anatomy. Here's my review of the three-disc set.

The Show

I'm going to be bluntly honest here: I don't like Grey's Anatomy. As such, I never watched its spinoff Private Practice. And knowing that it came from the same creative team, I didn't have high hopes for Off The Map.

Having watched the show now, I can see why it only lasted one season. It feels more like a shell of a program than a fully fleshed out one, even if you allow for it being a new serie...

Check Out 'Off The Map' On DVD Aug. 23

August 16th, 2011 7:00am EDT
Off The Map
"Off the Map" is a medical drama from the producers of “Grey’s Anatomy,” but it's different.

"Map" offers a rich, new cast of characters and the added trouble of a difficult location for the team of doctors. Theorized as Seattle Grace meets the South American rainforest, it stars Zach Gilford as a cocky plastic surgeon.

Valerie Cruz plays Zee, a feisty Hispanic doctor who acts as the mother hen to the group. Mamie Gummer plays Menard, the blonde version of "Anatomy's" Cristina Yang.

Why tune in? The scenery is gorgeous - and we're talking both plant and human. Waterfalls, the jungle a...

A Tribute To 'Friday Night Lights'

April 15th, 2011 2:00pm EDT
FNL
The end of any game I ever played was always a little sad to me as an athlete. And so it is with Friday Night Lights, which begins airing its final season tonight on NBC (8 PM ET/PT). Many people have already seen its final episodes, either in firstrun on DirecTV or on the DVDs released two weeks ago, but this will be the last broadcast run of what some have called one of the best shows in television history.

I don't know if I'd go that far myself - as I've only watched the fourth season and part of season five - but already, I know that this is still a moment worth recognizing. I ...

'Grey’s Anatomy' + 'Lost' - Mysteries That Will Never Be Solved = 'Off The Map'

off the map cast
Which is not necessarily a bad thing: The first time I watched “Off The Map,” I dismissed it as just another sexy doctor show produced by TV superstar Shonda Rhimes. Rhimes created “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice,” redefining our idea of medical dramas and prime-time soap operas. Rhimes didn’t create “Off The Map” (that credit belongs to Jenna Bans, who is a producer and writer on “Grey’s”), but she is executive producing it. And her influence is all over this new show.

At first, I amused myself by looking for character counterparts to my (I’ll admit it) beloved Seattle Grace doc...

In the second part of our farewell to Friday Night Lights, producers and cast talk about the show's controversial storylines (murder! abortion!), the show-saving fan campaigns, sending the Taylors to East Dillon and (unbelievably!) hating on the Panthers.

Part 1: Friday Night Light comes to an end: Producers and cast remember building Dillon

TVGuide.com spoke to stars Kyle Chandler (Eric Taylor), Connie Britton (Tami Taylor), Aimee Teegarden (Julie Taylor), Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins), Zach Gilford (Matt Saracen), Matt Lauria (Luke Cafferty), Michael B. Jordan (Vince Howard), and executiv...

A closely observed drama about boys becoming men, the comforts and frustrations of small-town life, a family's growing pains, and the lessons learned from football, Friday Night Lights will not soon be forgotten. The show wrapped filming of its fifth and final season in July, and on Wednesday, the lights will go down forever on Dillon, Texas. (For those without DirecTV, NBC will re-air the final season beginning April 15 at 8/7c.)

'Off the Map' Review: Not Just 'Grey’s Anatomy' In The Jungle

January 14th, 2011 9:34am EST
The cast of 'Off the Map.'
The season premiere “Off the Map," a new medical drama from the producers of “Grey’s Anatomy,” aired this week on ABC. Theorized as Seattle Grace meets the South American rainforest, can this new TV show keep up with the standards set by “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice" to hook its own set of loyal fans?

Series creator and writer Jenna Bans, executive producer Shonda Rhimes (of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Private Practice’ fame), and actor James George, who plays Otis Cole on the show, participated in a live Web chat via Facebook two days before the series premiere. The trio offered count...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - '2012,' 'Pirate Radio' & More

November 9th, 2009 9:52am EST
2012
At some point this week I hope to catch the wacky comedy "The Men Who Stare at Goats." While I have read some bad reviews of the film, I believe my tendency to disagree with the mainstream, could be a wild card for my own appraisal of the movie.

I'm having difficulty believing the collection of George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges could contribute to a horrific film considering I how much appreciate their abilities on screen.

Roland Emmerich destroys the world yet another time this week with his apocalyptic tale "2012." The quirky animation of Wes Anders...

Review: 'Post Grad' Has No Rhyme Or Reason

August 18th, 2009 9:54am EDT
Post Grad
One of the most famous formulas is the one for Coca-Cola. Do you know one of the best things about that formula? It's a secret. Why, oh why, can't movie formulas be secret? You know what a good formula is? The one that creates the eleven herbs and spices of Kentucky Fried Chicken (fine, it's technically a recipe, a point's trying to be made here). It's not finger lickin' good for no reason, mind you. You know what a bad formula is? Ambitious girl with longtime platonic guy friend is too caught up with her own career and her hunky foreign neighbor -- with prerequisite mid-film montages of ha...

Best TV Shows You Aren't Watching, Part 3

October 5th, 2007 12:00pm EDT
Friday Night Lights
The praise has been spread high and wide by critics, but for whatever reason, people aren't watching NBC's incredible Friday Night Lights, perhaps the best written, acted and produced show on television.

Not a show about forensic specialists, lawyers or doctors, "Friday Night Lights" shines a microscope on regular folks living in a small town fueled by football. The relationships in the show are written so honestly and realistically, it often leaves your heart aching with recognition and the thought, "This is life."

Indeed, the actors have no marks and are encouraged to improv. A...
