However, after a huge section of the new "House" series was scrapped at the last minute, creator Shore had to return to help re-structure the season, leaving his new projec...

January 12th, 2010 9:15am EST
Rockford Files
NBC is planning a new series of The Rockford Files, based on the '70s P.I. show starring James Garner. This won't be just your average remake though. David Shore, creator of TV's House, is developing the new Rockford.

"It's just that great character and there isn't that PI character on television right now," said NBC and Universal Media Studios president of primetime entertainment Angela Bromstad at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. "So if we do a creative reinvention of that, with that title, and I don't think there's anyone better to do it than David Shore who creat...

August 18th, 2009 10:40am EDT
The Thin Red Line
With the release of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds Friday, we're excited about what this often-perverse, slightly deranged and mostly genius mind will do with a movie about World War 2's Nazi-occupied France.

Looking back at the movies that Hollywood tackled on the same subject, most have been re-creations of bloody battles or stories of specific personalities involved, but very few ever added the comic punch that Tarantino's flick will surely carry out.

In anticipation of the film, here is a list of World War II films to watch before the release of "Inglorious Basterds" o...

NBC To Remake 'Rockford Files'

July 30th, 2009 9:31am EDT
James Garner
"House" creator David Shore will helm a remake of the 1970s detective show "The Rockford Files," which starred James Garner, according to Variety.com.

Garner played an ex-con private eye who lived in a trailer in Malibu. Rockford dedicated himself to re-opening "closed cases," digging up new evidence to prove that the authorities had been wrong with the original verdict. Rockford was nearly always broke due to his occasional willingness to accept a case free of charge or because of duplicitous clients or heavy fines for "bending" the law.

Shore was a fan of the show and understands th...

Classic Tearjerking Movies

December 26th, 2007 3:55pm EST
The Notebook
The classic tearjerker movie. Many of us watch them with a diet coke in one hand and a box of Kleenex in the other. Whether it's a sappy Lifetime movie or an old classic romance, we enjoy watching them even though they make us weep like little babies. Some won't admit to tearing up, while others put the blame on "allergies" or use other excuses.

It's pretty hard to keep this list short, or maybe it's just because here at Starpulse we get a little sappy when it comes to this type of film. We somehow managed. Get out the box of Kleenex because you may need them.

Gibson says, "There's talk of doing another Maverick. Garner and I have been looking at that for a while. It'd be fun to play that character again. I think audiences would probably like to see him again too. We really cooked the first time. We've got some great ideas - I think audiences will enjoy what we've got in mind. It won't be happening immediately, but I dare say, it'll happen."
