The new Charlie in the Charlie's Angels TV revamp has revealed he only secured the iconic role three days before the new series debuted on Thursday night.

Actor Victor Garber was hired to replace first choice Robert Wagner as the voice of detective agency owner Charles Townsend at the beginning of the week.

Things are somewhat back to normal in San Francisco on Eli Stone. When last we left everyone's favorite heartless lawyer turned defender of the defenseless, he had just undergone an operation to remove a dangerous aneurysm from his brain. It wasn't clear at the time whether Eli's (Jonny Lee Miller) visions also would disappear once the aneurysm was gone, as that whole "Lostish" science vs. faith argument was a major component of the show's first season. In the end, Eli hoped that with the aneurysm out of his brain, his visions would cease, and he could go back to living a normal live.

It has been a long and arduous journey for Eli Stone this season - both the character and the series. The character of Eli (Jonny Lee Miller) has had to deal with visions from God, a deadly aneurysm, and a complete change of lifestyle; while the series struggled with inconsistency early on. Although things for Eli the character have continued to be murky in recent weeks, "Eli Stone" the series has greatly improved in the second half of its season. All of that has lead to the season finale, which is without a doubt the strongest episode in the series thus far.

It's a nice foggy day in San Francisco, and it's good to see that. This might seem nitpicky, but "Eli Stone" rarely features establishing shots of the city with the famous fog present, so it's a nice change. This week on "Eli Stone," Eli is confronted with something much darker and deadlier - a gigantic, ferocious, fire-breathing dragon! The dragon is a nice touch, but it would have been a lot cooler if it was voiced by Sean Connery. "I am the last one!"

It's Thursday night, so you know what that means? Time for another horrendous episode of "Eli Stone," right? In this wild and crazy world that we live in, it's nice to have something to depend upon. Only this week, ol' Eli decided to throw us a little curveball. This week, the episode wasn't terrible. In fact, it actually bordered on decent. Quite shocking.

The episode begins with a standard "previously on Eli Stone" recap as opposed to the creative, Eli-narrated openings from weeks prior. Too bad, those were pretty much the only interesting component of the show. So anyway, after the generic recap, things start off with Eli (Jonny Lee Miller) and Maggie (Julie Gonzalo) in Hawaii. It doesn't appear to be a very pleasant trip as it takes less than a minute for Maggie to start being obnoxiously annoying. It's going to be a long hour.

After a brief opening scene, the clever writers insert a little time jump, and we go back three days. ...

Every episode of "Eli Stone" begins with a recap narrated by good ol' Eli (Jonny Lee Miller). The spot changes every episode, and this week Eli starts out by proclaiming his story to be something truly different. If by different, Eli means repetitive and sleep inducing, then he's absolutely right. If that is the case, "Eli Stone" is downright unique.
