The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
The blockbuster global Mummy franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who...

Comic Con Diary From the Geek Side

April 29th, 2008 2:43pm EDT
NYC Comic Con
Fellow Starpulse writer Michael Ryan may have lost his Comic Con virginity in New York City earlier this month, but mine was officially taken at age 10 when I attended my first con. This world of geekdom that so frightens the mainstream public is slowly being translated into "normal," and the attendance of celebrities, big publishing houses, and large studios at the Con gained the notice of the every day person who doesn't know Hal Jordan from Alan Scott. I, along with my photographer friend Lylianne, frolicked among my people for a fun-filled weekend.

Wanted
Starpulse writer Dee Doyle braved the crowds and costumes at Comic Con last weekend to get the dirt on anticipated films Wanted, Hellboy 2, Harold & Kumar Escape To Guantanamo Bay and Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D. The various panel discussions proved there's tons of action, special effects and hilarity to look forward to this summer (and this weekend!):

The Top Ten Oddest Athlete Cameos

March 6th, 2008 11:45am EST
The Fridge in G.I. Joe
We have to say, the process of compiling a list of the best athlete cameos has been done to death. We get it; Keith Hernandez was hilarious in Seinfeld (he was), and Mr. Burns' All Star softball team episode of The Simpsons is a classic (it is). We wanted to delve a bit deeper though, really flesh out some more obscure and odd cameos' from our favorite stars in the world of sports.

Comic-To-Film Dream Casts: Miley Cyrus As Spider-Girl & More

January 14th, 2008 10:17am EST
Miley Cyrus
Comic book movies have steadily crept into mainstream media, and with the addition of some extremely popular fantasy-based television shows like "Lost" and "Heroes," the strange and unfamiliar are becoming more widely accepted.

I've been a long-time fan of comics, mini-series and graphic novels, and seeing some of my favorite characters live on the big screen can be both exhilarating and horrifying. It is just a matter of time before most of them are made into movies, and because of this I put forth a modest proposal for a few dream casting and origin/first movie plot choices. In some...

Although we haven't seen Elizabeth Hurley truly light up the big screen like she did in Austin Powers, we keep hoping she'll make headlines for more than her personal woes. Known for being Hugh Grant's ex-lover, as well as enduring a paternity battle with Steve Bing, Hurley has also made a name for herself through several other films and projects.

Hurley, who was born in Basingstoke, England, on June 10, 1965, originally wanted to be a dancer. Her interest in dancing soon gave way to acting pursuits, and following studies in dance and theater at the London Studio Centre, she began go...
