Brendan Fraser Can No Longer Afford Alimony & Child Support Payments
Even celebrities suffer from financial strain. Brendan Fraser is hoping to reduce alimony and child support payments to his ex-wife due to mounting expenses.
Since their 2009 divorce, Fraser has been giving $75,000 to Afton Smith, the mother of his three sons, each month. The actor has asked a Connecticut judge to lower the payments because he can't afford to pay the bill.
Fraser claims he isn't earning as much as he used to, and "medical issues" have been one of the factors.

Producer Sues Brendan Fraser For Extreme Mental Anguish & Physical Pain
A film producer is suing actor Brendan Fraser, accusing the actor of beating him up on two separate occasions.
Todd Moyer claims Fraser got drunk at a hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana, a year ago and started pushing him around and verbally threatening him.
Then on New Year's Eve, Moyer alleges the star repeated the behavior during a meeting about "The Legend of William Tell" when Moyer refused Fraser's request to hire a producer named Charlotte Huggins.

Brendan Fraser Suing The Producers Of 'Legend Of William Tell: 3D'
Brendan Fraser has filed a $3 million lawsuit against the makers of a new movie about William Tell, amid allegations the planned project has failed to materialize.
The Mummy actor claims producer Todd Moyer hired him to star in The Legend of William Tell: 3D early last year, with the shoot scheduled to begin in October.
Fraser alleges he passed up on several lucrative jobs to commit to the project - which is reportedly still in pre-production due to financing issues.

Brendan Fraser And Paul Haggis Awarded Damages Over 'Crash' Lawsuit
Moviemaker Bob Yari has been ordered to pay actor Brendan Fraser and director Paul Haggis $12 million in damages for improperly withholding profits from hit 2004 film Crash.
In 2007, Haggis launched legal action against the movie's producer Yari, claiming he had breached a profit sharing agreement made in 2002 and failed to give him the correct money he is owed.
Superior Court Judge Daniel J. Buckley ruled earlier this year that Yari had breached his contract by "diverting funds to third parties" from the profits of the $100 million -grossing movie.

Jessica Alba Goes Overboard With Sequined Schoolgirl Look
Last night at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York City Jessica Alba showed up wearing a very sparkly ensemble. The actress paired the sequined blue dress with matching tights and pumps. We think she's just a little too sparkly. What do you think of her look?

The movie centers a retired spy-turned-full-time homemaker (Alba) who gets some unexpected help from her disagreeable twin step-children to thwart a power-mad supervillain who wants to take over the planet.

Katie Cassidy is looking to blow things up.
The "Gossip Girl" beauty will be getting her freak on -- Elmore Leonard style -- as she joins the cast of "Freaky Deaky," according to Variety.

Katie will be playing Robin Abbott, one of the ex-hippies in question who went to jail for blowing up a police car. She hooks up with her former...

'Journey To The Center Of The Earth' Sequel Shaping Up Without Brendan Fraser
Journey to the Center of the Earth looked like another Brendan Fraser franchise where he’d fight magical creatures, a la The Mummy. However, the sequel is going ahead with Josh Hutcherson as the star. Hutcherson played the son in Fraser’s adventure, so now he’s taking the lead.
“The movie’s going to be based around Josh, based around him now as a 17-year-old,” director Brad Peyton said. “The idea is that in the first one, he was kind of like a little kid. Now he feels like, ‘I didn’t get credit for that. I was just along for the ride but now I want mine.’ We try to bring it back to what I ...

Why Isn't Tyler Perry A Bigger Star?
Tyler Perry is one of the most prolific filmmakers in recent memory, perhaps the most prolific. Not only does he release movies at an alarming rate, but most of them are deep, well-balanced projects that depict the world with a haunting accuracy. More impressive still is the fact that Perry writes and appears in most of his movies, giving him a skill-set that his contemporaries (with the possible exception of Quentin Tarantino) can only dream of.
Why is it, then, that Tyler Perry isn’t mentioned alongside Tarantino, Peter Jackson, or Christopher Nolan when people talk about big-name Hollyw...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies 'Clash Of The Titans,' 'The Last Song' & More
I’m going to see “Clash of the Titans” this week but honestly I’m not terribly excited about the film. To me it seems like your run-of-the-mill epic action/fantasy with loads of computer generated effects and explosions. I have yet to see a preview that has made me think this movie has anything special to offer. The only things that have my attention are the amusing tagline “Damn the Gods,” and the presence of Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, and Ralph Fiennes. As a critic though, I often approach films with the hope that they will prove my preexisting notions wrong, and “Clash of the Tita...

Ah, Valentine's Day weekend, the perfect time for Hollywood to embrace the mainstream audience by giving them cheesy and wonderful romantic comedies to prepare for the big day of love. This year the aptly named "Valentine's Day" is perfectly timed to get big notice, but one of the first things that impresses viewers is seeing the celebrity cast involved. It seems like almost every major actor is involved with this project, including Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Ashton Kutcher, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Patrick Dempsey, and on and on with at least ten other ...

The Best and Worst Young Adult Fantasy Movies
One of the reasons studios love to make movies from popular young adult (YA) books is that their built-in fanbases are almost guaranteed to flood the theaters in order to see their favorite characters come to life - and drag their parents along for the ride. The downside is that Hell hath no fury like a fangirl scorned, and walking the line between staying true to the beloved source material and making a decent movie isn't always easy. Like many others, Inkheart, opening January 23, starring Brendan Fraser, is based on a widely acclaimed novel.

Despite Jet Li's Would-Be Resurrection, 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' Still Flops
(Hollywoodchicago) – The threequel that culminates with “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” is so hackneyed that the main star of the previous two films – Brendan Fraser – wasn’t even enough any more to sell audiences on a third return. Universal Studios needed to enlist co-star Jet Li to even stand a fighting chance and take the mood the Asian way.

'Mummy' Cast & Crew Shared Battleground With Chinese Army
The cast and crew of the new Mummy movie frequently had to halt shooting for Chinese army maneuvers. Director Rob Cohen filmed the new action movie, Tomb of The Dragon Emperor, on land owned by the army in Shanghai - and had to agree to stop shooting when soldiers went on the march.
The film's star Brendan Fraser says, "One particular location in China was the desert battlefield for the epic collision of the good undead and the evil undead. That was actually the training facility for the Chinese army that we leased from them. Every now and then they would run a maneuver, not with tanks...
