Tons of celebrities stepped out to honor Martin Scorsese at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Art + Film Gala on Saturday.

The filmmaker was recognized for helping the museum during the financial crisis of 2007 and 2008 and for his work on film restoration.

James Franco was among those affected by the shooting at LAX airport on Friday (11.01.13).
The 'Spring Breakers' star was left stranded on the tarmac when his flight landed at Los Angeles International Airport amidst chaos after a gunman opened fire at around 9.20am local time.
James posted a solemn looking picture of himself waiting to leave a plane on his Instagram account.
He captioned the snap: "At #lax Some s** tbag shot up the place. (sic)"

A few famous faces were among the passengers present at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday after a gunman opened fire at security officials inside a terminal.

At about 9:30 a.m. local time, an unidentified shooter targeted a Transport Security Administration (TSA) official at a Terminal 3 checkpoint.

Actor James Franco's academic pursuits are heading into cyberspace - the busy actor is hoping to launch an online filmmaking school.

The 127 Hours star is currently teaching graduate filmmaking and screenwriting classes at UCLA in Los Angeles, and now he's keen to teach budding writers and directors via the Internet.

Franco says, "I teach at and USC are two of the best film schools in the world and it's hard to get in, it's expensive, so I like the idea of also teaching people that can't afford that or can't get in."

A heartfelt letter a young James Franco wrote to apologise for throwing eggs at his neighbour's home has surfaced online, 21 years after the incident.

The "Spider-Man" star has been cast as Paul Leotard, a fashion model-turned-doctor who replaces actress Mindy Kaling's gynaecologist character in her clinic when she goes abroad on a volunteer mission.

Actor James Franco is set to become the butt of all jokes at the next Comedy Central Roast.

The 127 Hours star will be mocked by his industry pals during an upcoming U.S. TV special, and he took to his Twitter.com page on Tuesday (09Jul13) to share the news with his followers.

In a video clip, Franco delivers the news in an unexcited monotone voice, mumbling, "Hey y'all, what's up? I'm gonna get roasted on Comedy Central. Be sure to check it out. They wanted me to tell you that."

James Franco has pulled out of starring and directing upcoming movie Garden Of Last Days just two weeks before shooting was set to start, according to a U.S. report.

The Milk star was expected to begin work on the project on 10 July (13), but editors at Deadline.com reveal he has stepped away from the film after a disagreement with financiers at Millennium over the crew he wanted to hire.

Franco had signed on to the project in April (13) and the movie was set to be based on the 2008 novel The Garden of Last Days by Andre Dubus III.

The Pineapple Express star is using fundraising website Indiegogo.com to pull in the capital needed to make three films based on his 2010 collection of short stories about troubled teens.
