Who Do You Want To See Host ‘SNL’ For The Upcoming Season?

9/26/2015 11:03am EDT
Will Forte
After a milestone season, ‘Saturday Night Live’ carries on … with another season. Season 41 (premiering October 3) has a bit of a comedown feel to it, arriving in the shadow of the 40th Anniversary Special. But that does not mean there is nothing to be excited about! It does mean, though, that since the show spoiled itself with a plethora of guests last year, there may not as many famous folks as there usually are clamoring for a chance on Studio 8H. But since predicting that nobody is going to be a guest would make for a boring article, we are still going to prognosticate the hosts and mus...

'Last Man On Earth' Co-Stars Dating

4/2/2015 8:59am EDT
January Jones Will Forte
January Jones and Will Forte have just gotten a relationship upgrade: from "kissing on TV" to "kissing in real life!" The two actors, both of whom star on Fox's "Last Man on Earth," are officially dating.

The news was revealed by Us Weekly, who have the first details on our latest celebrity comedy couple. They've been dating for a few months already, it seems. Also, "He's a good guy" and they're "having fun," says one extremely vague source.

On the series, Forte plays Phil, the last man on Earth (not really- another guy named Todd showed up a few weeks ago). Jones plays Melissa, another s...

Who Has The Shaggiest Beard?

3/8/2015 3:00pm EDT
12 Celebrities With Big Shaggy Beards
Beards are huge right now. Don't believe us? Just ask anyone who's ever gone full lumberjack-mode for a month during No-Shave November. Or during "Movember," when men grow out their mustaches to raise awareness for prostate cancer and other causes.

(You'd think those two groups would have combined at some point, but they remain staunchly opposed and we're not really sure why).

Anyway, the point being: beards really are huge right now. And not just figuratively- today, beards are larger and fuller than ever. So let's celebrate our happy, hairy world, and look at some of the most famous fac...

'Nebraska' Review: Bruce Dern Gives Performance Of His Life In This Exquisite Alexander Payne Film

11/15/2013 9:57am EST
When it comes to movies everyone knows it's all about the visuals. Yes, dialogue is important, but it's the pictures that have the most impact. This is certainly the case when it comes to the black and white film 'Nebraska,' which is brilliantly directed by Alexander Payne.

Simply put, this film is absolutely exquisite - and equally exquisite is Bruce Dern's performance. This is the best performance of his career and come Oscar time his name will certainly be on the Best Actor list.

Bruce plays Woody a man nearing the end of his life, who may or may not have dementia.
This is a man who d...

Jason Bateman, Will Forte, Ed Helms And Jason Sudeikis Star In Mumford & Sons' 'Hopeless Wanderer'

8/5/2013 3:07pm EDT
Jason Bateman, Will Forte, Ed Helms, Jason Sudeikis as Mumford &
Mumford & Sons hired a few body doubles for their latest music video, "Hopeless Wanderer."

Jason Bateman, Will Forte, Ed Helms and Jason Sudeikis star in a video poking fun at the folk rock band, although it isn't obvious at first. It seems like a normal music video, even if the faces of the band members are obscured by the glaring son or sneaky camera edits.

Once the stars are revealed, the music video still retains some authenticity, even if you can get over Will Forte's awesome beard tribute to Ted Dwane and a few lustful stares. However, around the three-minute mark, things begin to g...

'Up All Night' Recap: 'New Boss'

3/2/2012 1:04pm EST
Up All Night
After a string of really well-written episodes (including last week’s “First Birthday,” which must have been so good that I forgot to recap it), “Up All Night” hit a snag with last night’s “New Boss.” While there were some funny moments – mostly thanks to Will Arnett’s awkward attempts at machismo – the story was all over the place and never managed to really go anywhere.

The first red flag signaling that this is a poorly scripted episode is the announcement that Kevin (Jason Lee) moved to Idaho for a new job – an important tidbit that was revealed so matter-of-factly that I started to w...

Check Out 'A Good Old Fashioned Orgy,' Now On DVD & Digital

12/27/2011 10:57am EST
A Good Old Fashioned Orgy
An arrested adolescent hell-bent on good times decides to throw a different sort of bash in the comedy "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy."

Eric (Jason Sudeikis) is in his early 30s, but he hasn't changed much since his high school days - the guy lives to party with a handful of his old friends, and the crazier the get-together, the better. Every summer, Eric throws an epic-scale theme party at his parents' home in the Hamptons, as he and his pals get crazy at the "White Trash Bash" or a "Star Wars vs. Star Trek" throwdown. However, this grand tradition is about to end, as Eric's dad (Don Johnson...

'Up All Night' Recap: 'Working Late and Working It'

9/29/2011 8:13am EDT
Will Arnett and Will Forte in
When we last caught up with the Brinkleys, they were preoccupied with maintaining their coolness. On this week's "Up All Night," Chris starts to wonder where sexy went and tries to persuade Reagan to bring it back.

The latest episode centers around what seems to be an indisputable fact of family life: babies are tiny, evil sex vampires. Just like cats steal your breath, babies sap your will to do the nasty. Chris begins to realize this when he makes Reagan a romantic dinner (gnocchi - nature's most powerful aphrodisiac), which fails to get her in the mood but succeeds in getting her to...

Can 'MacGruber' Break The SNL Movie Curse?

5/20/2010 9:00am EDT
Can MacGruber Break The SNL Movie Curse
Of all the recent "Saturday Night Live" recurring characters, MacGruber seemed the least likely to land his own feature film. After all, the skit spends about 15 seconds with the action hero before he's blown to smithereens.

However, star Will Forte imagined greater things for our mulleted man of action, and he convinced Lorne Michaels and the powers that be to turn the skit into a 90-minute film that opens Friday.

"MacGruber" is getting solid buzz on the eve of its opening, but has to overcome the stigma that SNL films can't cut it both from a quality and financial standpoint. There ha...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Shrek Forever After,' 'MacGruber,' & More

5/17/2010 10:10am EDT
A lot of other critics have blasted Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood,” but honestly I found it to be pretty interesting. It is slightly long winded and its action scenes are a bit frenetic, however it dares to be different in how it approaches the Robin Hood tale which I appreciate.

As a narrative "Robin Hood" operates like a prequel, covering the events leading to Robin’s branding as an outlaw. This Robin is serious, more like a solider commanding his friends in battle, than the lighthearted rogue whose archery and skills with a sword are so well known in the legend. While he believes in eq...

Celebrities Who Should Host Saturday Night Live

1/22/2010 6:00pm EST
Celebrities Who Should Host Saturday Night Live
With such an iconic sketch comedy show like Saturday Night Live, it can be very disappointing when the host fails to excite us. Some celebrity hosts surprise the audience and are actually funny like Brian Williams

, whereas some bomb terribly like January Jones, Michael Phelps and Paris Hilton. Most likely if Lorne Michaels invites the celebrity to host again, it's a good sign like Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, John Goodman, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Drew Barrymore, and Jon Bon Jovi. A few other phenomenal past hosts were Justin Timberlake, Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Britney S...

Just one operative has been awarded 16 purple hearts, 3 Congressional Medals of Honor and 7 presidential medals of bravery. And only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet. In 2010, Will Forte brings Saturday Night Live's clueless soldier of fortune to the big screen in the action comedy MacGruber.

Kenan Thompson Talks 'Sit Down, Shut Up' , 'SNL' And More

5/7/2009 10:44am EDT
Kenan Thompson
Sit Down, Shut Up may be one of the more brilliant shows to premiere this television season. Produced by the creators of, and starring half the cast of, Arrested Development, the show already has comedy street cred. (Unfortunately, just like it's highly acclaimed predecessor, Sit down, Shut Up may be in trouble. It's hard to ignore the show's being moved 90 minutes earlier to the Sunday night at 7 pm, "I know you're watching 60 Minutes," time slot. Hopefully, Fox will not make the same mistake twice.) Saturday Night Live's Kenan Thompson, who provides the voice for the school's principal, S...

Will Forte Of 'Saturday Night Live' Talks To Starpulse

4/28/2009 12:03pm EDT
Will Forte
"It's a strange transformation that he goes through when he puts a moustache on, it's very funny. Seriously, It's like automatic douchebag. It's crazy." - Kenan Thompson speaking to Starpulse about his "SNL" and "Sit Down, Shut Up" co-star Will Forte's love for fake moustaches in a yet to be published interview.

Mike: You were a history major at UCLA. How do you go from a history major to joining the Groundlings to where you're at now?

Will: Well, when I was trying to figure out my major, my dad said, "You know, it doesn't really matter what you major in", I didn...

From the creator of Arrested Development and the producers of Two And A Half Men, comes the new Sony Pictures Television half-hour animated comedy series, "Sit Down, Shut Up" for FOX. The series premieres Sunday, April 19 at 8:30 PM (ET/PT) as part of FOX's Animation Domination Sunday night lineup.

Based on the hit live-action Australian series, "Sit Down, Shut Up" revolves around the lives of high school faculty members in a small Florida fishing town who are so preoccupied with their own personal needs and agendas that the students ALWAYS come second. At Knob Haven High the teac...

An Insider's Look At 'SNL' Behind The Scenes

4/1/2009 10:53am EDT
I am a Saturday Night Live junkie - so much so that at times I have trouble hiding how big of a fan when that little thing called professionalism may be at stake. It was so apparent in the interview I conducted with current featured player Bobby Moynihan - a self-described "SNL" nerd himself - that he casually mentioned the prospect of me attending a show.

Now I could tell Bobby was a really nice guy, but I thought he was just trying to be polite. I was pleasantly surprised (read: screamed like a 12 year old girl!) when a week later he followed up on that invitation and asked if I wan...

Meet The Cast That's Going To Save 'Saturday Night Live'

5/9/2008 9:00am EDT
Saturday Night Live
For those of you who have been keeping score, it has been a long time since Saturday Night Live, once the premier, end all and be all of comedy on television, has held the clout it once demanded. In fact, many of those who grew up on the late night comedy show have long since grown disinterested and weary of sub par casts, guests, and skits. "Saturday Night Live" was declared dead by popular consensus. And yet, after 33 seasons, it is making a new bid with some fresh faces. Sound the alarm - the funniest night of the week is back:

Meet the group that's going to Save Saturday Night Live...

Gossip Girl (The CW, 8 p.m.) - Someone's coming out of the closet. And on this show, he or she will probably do it wearing a fabulous outfit.

How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30 p.m.) - Barney auditions SNL's Will Forte for the position of his rebound bro.

Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9 p.m.) - The writers of CSI take a stab at "Two and a Half Men." Literally. No need to worry. George Eads is on the case.

House (FOX, 9 p.m.) - House becomes convinced that a soap actor (Sex and the City's Jason Lewis) is sick and takes to diagnosing him for fear that his fave chara...

The 10 Greatest Cast Members Of 'Saturday Night Live'

4/7/2008 2:30pm EDT
Eddie Murphy
Live from New York, it's Saturday Night! These seven words have been shouted from Studio 8H of Rockefeller Center since Lorne Michaels created "Saturday Night Live" in 1975. The original name of the show was simply "Saturday Night" because at the time ABC had a show entitled "Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell."

Choosing 10 of the show's best cast members is not a task to be taken lightly. We looked at what qualities go into making a perfect cast member as opposed to just picking performers who went on to greater fame after they left the show (though sometimes this happened anyw...
