Get Him to the Greek
Lately I’ve been quite busy seeing movies. I saw three of the films that came out last week and I already caught one that opens this week. My review of the one premiering this week will be in next week’s column.

I subjected myself to “Sex and the City 2” last Monday which I appreciated it about as much as any man probably could: not very much. It was not a terrible film by any means though. Fans of the show should have a good time. My Grade: B-

Tuesday I saw “Prince of Persia” which I describe as a funnier version of “Clash of the Titans” since the dialogue is more entertaining. As ...

Colin Farrell struggled to perfect his accent for his latest movie Ondine - even though he plays an Irishman.

The actor had to speak in his native brogue to play an Irish fisherman in the movie, about a man who catches a woman in his net and believes her to be a mermaid.

However, Farrell admits he was nervous about speaking in his native accent - because he's so used to acting with an American drawl.

He tells the New York Daily News, "I spent most of my childhood watching TJ Hooker and CHiPS so I was more familiar with an American accent than an Irish one. This film was one of the har...

Review: 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' Is A Storyteller's Tale For Gilliam, Ledger Fans

December 28th, 2009 1:26pm EST
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
Terry Gilliam is an interesting Hollywood director in that he's bizarre and not mainstream, and yet his films are so interesting and bizarre that they get critical acclaim and great notice. His started with the "Monty Python" gang and moved on to hits like "Brazil," "Time Bandits," "12 Monkeys," and "Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas." He had his fair share of failures too with the odd "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" and the lukewarm critical reactions to his film "The Brothers Grimm." It was always an uphill battle for Gilliam since his movies are visually intriguing, mind bending, and n...
