Actor Arlen Escarpeta was born on April 9, 1980, in Belize, Central America, and moved to the United States at age three after his father died. Arlen and his mother settled in Los Angeles, where he was enrolled in the Young Saints Scholarship Foundation and graduated from Hollywood High School. He attended Pasadena City College, majoring in sociology. He began his career with guest appearances on the television shows "Boston Public," "Judging Amy" and "The Shield" and had roles in the films "High Crimes," "Show and Tell" and "The Ten." He is most known for his roles as Sam Walker in the TV series "American Dreams" and as Reggie Oliver in the football film "We Are Marshall." In his free time, Arlen draws cartoon characters, reads non-fiction and restores his 1964 Volkswagen Beetle.
