Channing Tatum Elected To 'White House Down'
Next stop for Channing Tatum: Washington, DC.
The "21 Jump Street" star has signed on to save 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. from evil with the lead role in "White House Down," according to Deadline.
The film has been described as "'Die Hard' in the White House" (say no more; we're there) as it focuses on a paramilitary takeover of the President's home. Tatum will play a Secret Service agent — and, we're guessing, America's Last Hope.
"White House Down" is being directed by Roland Emmerich, the Master of Disaster who allegedly destroyed the world for the last time in "2012" and has since moved o...

Two Jews' Review 'Anonymous' And Battle Over This Political Thriller (Video)
Two Jews on Film - By Joan Alperin-Schwartz: Yes 'Anonymous' is a political thriller, but it's one that is set in the past, 400 years ago to be precise.
The film, directed by Roland Emmerich and written by John Orloff (took him 15 drafts to get it right) supports the premise that Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, (Rhys Ifans)a prominent aristocrat, was the real author of the works attributed to William Shakespeare. Sounds dull? Believe me, it's anything but.
Whether you agree with the premise or not, 'Anonymous' is an exciting, sexy, suspenseful, exquisitely acted and intriguing fi...

Not One, But Two Sequels In The Works For 'Independence Day'
It appears that Will Smith will be back to save the United States from aggressive and revenge seeking aliens for not one, but two "Independence Day" sequels. The buzz is beginning to pick up fast, as rumors of the sequels started months ago and it seems like "Independence Day" is on the brink of an anticipated return to theaters.
This past November, director Roland Emmerich told MTV that the sequels were in development, and now it look likes Will Smith is on-board to dust off the pilot uniform and resume his role as Captain Steven Hiller.
