'Think Like A Man Too' Philly Red Carpet Premiere

June 17th, 2014 12:05pm EDT
'Think Like A Man Too' Philly Red Carpet Premiere
Meagan Good, Michael Ealy and Simon 'One Punch' Carr hit the red carpet at Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater this past Thursday night, June 12th, to kick off the Philly screening for 'Think Like a Man, Too.' I loved the original 'Think Like a Man' (2012) for its humour, intelligence and writing. So, of course, I asked my two favorite stars about my two favorite items in the initial film - its three-dimensional writing and its amazing actor chemistry.

Despite having two male writers and one male director using a self-help guide written by a man, the original film avoided reducing the fem...

Film On DVD: 'Takers' [Blu-Ray]

January 20th, 2011 9:42am EST
Takers
Starting Tuesday, you can bring the heist flick Takers home on DVD and Blu-Ray courtesy of Sony Home Entertainment. What's inside for the taking? I open up the Blu-Ray version to help you find out!

The Film

Takers could have been a really great, great movie. Any film that's led by Golden Globe nominee Idris Elba (Luther) is going to have at least one good performance, but adding in Paul Walker (Fast & Furious) and Michael Ealy (FlashForward) had me waiting for this one with bated breath. I couldn't wait to see it...

...and I couldn't believe I'd waited so long for it when it was over.

Review: 'For Colored Girls' Would Have Been Better Suited For The Small Screen

November 3rd, 2010 10:00am EDT
Four Colored Girls
A good movie either needs the big screen, the big budget, or big stars to be worthy of an audience as large as Tyler Perry's. “For Colored Girls” would make a wonderful first season of a cable (or TBS) drama.

Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls" is one of those movies that follows interconnecting stories of people going through struggles. The domestically abused, the sexually assaulted, accidentally impregnated, the barren, and hopelessly devoted. Think “Valentines Day” with rape.

The movie is not unlike that of a, or, well, six lifetime films in that it's about women who don't need men. Or ...

Showtime has ordered a new, eight-hour television event based upon last year's Golden Golden-nominated miniseries, Sleeper Cell. Michael Ealy and Oded Fehr re-team for the frighteningly realistic drama, set to begin production in Los Angeles this summer.

The controversial and unconventional drama delves into the harsh inner-workings of a Los Angeles-based Islamic terrorist cell headed by a charismatic and fanatical extremist (Fehr) and an Muslim undercover FBI agent (Ealy) who infiltrates it.
