April 2nd, 2015 1:56pm EDT
Jack Nicholson, Other Stars Had Access To Playboy Mansion Via Se
Famous celebrities who lived near the Playboy mansion in the 1970s had secret access to the estate via underground tunnels, according to new documents uncovered by Playboy.com.

One of the website's editors was searching for some old photos in honor of Hugh Hefner's birthday, and he came across some Polaroids from 1977 that showed an excavation project at the mansion.

Upon further investigation, a blueprint was found with tunnels connecting to the homes of "Mr. J. Nicholson," "Mr. W. Beatty," "Mr. K. Douglas" and "Mr. J. Caan." Who happened to live in the neighborhood at the time? Jack ...

Oops! 'People' Accidentally Posts Kirk Douglas Obituary
Kirk Douglas, who turns 98 on Dec. 9, is still alive. People.com accidentally posted an article announcing the veteran actor's death over the weekend under the headline: "DO NOT PUB Kirk Douglas Dies."

He was 97 (DOB 12/9/1916) and had been in good health despite having suffered a debilitating 1996 stroke that rendered his speech difficult."

The article highlighted aspects of th...

28 Celebrities Who Use Stage Names
Many celebrities have changed their names before they hit it big, and for many reasons. Let's take a look at some of the biggest stars who didn't take their birth name to Hollywood.

Katy Hudson didn't want to be confused with Kate Hudson, so she took her mother's maiden name and became Katy Perry.

Oprah Winfrey's name is iconic, but it's not actually her real name. It's Orpha, after the biblical figure. However, so many people mispronounced her name while she was growing up that the mispronunciation stuck.

Barry Manilow was born Barry Alan Pincus. He took his mother's maiden name...

Neil Patrick Harris
While many celebrities and regular citizens were preparing for Thanksgiving feasts in the comforts of their homes, several celebrities helped the Los Angeles Mission give out meals to the homeless on Wednesday.

"How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris was on hand to scoop turkey onto people's plates.

Verteran actor Kirk Douglas, 95, also got his hands dirty to help the less fortunate (and he sampled some food to make sure it tasted okay).

Mom-to-be Malin Akerman also lent a hand to those who waited in line for a hot meal.

Michael Douglas Says Father Kirk Was 'Intimidating'

October 3rd, 2010 9:30am EDT
Michael Douglas
Michael Douglas found his father Kirk "intimidating" when he was a child because the "Spartacus" star was "consumed with ambition" as he pursued his Hollywood career.

The veteran actor was 27 years old when he and then-wife Diana Dill welcomed Michael in 1944 and Kirk's film career kicked off shortly afterwards.

And Michael admits he was overwhelmed seeing his father working on such massive movies.

He tells Britain's The Guardian, "Kirk's career was constant, overwhelming - the guy didn't stop. Back then they were doing five movies a year. My father did 90-plus films. He was Spartacus!

Kirk Douglas
Veteran actor Kirk Douglas has called for more Muslims to speak out and condemn the 9/11 terrorists - after admitting he's "confused" by plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero.

The Hollywood legend has waded into the debate over the controversial proposal, insisting it would be "painful" for the families of the 2,700 people who died in the World Trade Center attack. However, he also admits it's unfair to punish all Muslims for the actions of a slim minority - and is urging more followers of Islam to speak out against terrorist atrocities.

Taking to his MySpace.com page, Douglas writes...

My name is Kirk Douglas. You may know me. If you don't ... Google me. I was a movie star and I'm Michael Douglas's dad, Catherine Zeta-Jones' father-in-law, and the grandparents of their two children. Today I celebrate my 90th birthday.

It's a tradition that when a "birthday boy" stands over his cake he makes a si...
