Jason Dohring To Join Kristen Bell In 'Veronica Mars' Movie

4/4/2013 2:33pm EDT
Jason Dohring
Jason Dohring has officially signed on to reunite with Kristen Bell for a movie adaptation of cult TV show Veronica Mars after an online fan fundraiser drew more than $4.5 million in donations.

Series creator Rob Thomas set up the campaign on March 13th in a bid to raise enough cash within 30 days to finance the project, and the $2 million target was hit less than 24 hours after its launch; by Thursday, devotees had more than doubled the original goal, with eight days still to go.

Now, Thomas has given fans more reason to celebrate - Dohring, who played bad boy Logan Ech...

'Supernatural' 7.12 Recap: Dean Brings Sexy Back To The Future

1/14/2012 8:40am EST
ackles, padalecki
It’s been a big week for “Supernatural” fans. The little show that could won two People’s Choice Awards (Favorite Network Drama and Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show). Suck it, “Vampire Diaries!” also reported that—SPOILER ALERT— “Supernatural” staple Jim Beaver will eventually return, and my favorite guest star, Mark Pellegrino will be reprising his fabulously evil turn as Lucifer in the episode 15. So this week's episode felt like icing on a very awesome pop cult cake.

“Time After Time” was artfully pieced together in a non-linear manner, but I’m going to do my best to break...

Cult Vampire Favorite 'Moonlight' To Return To Primetime This Summer

5/7/2010 9:38am EDT
Summer just got a lot scarier on The CW. The network will air the acclaimed drama "Moonlight" on Thursday nights beginning June 3.

"Moonlight" will air from 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET, following encore episodes of the first season of the The CW’s hit drama, "The Vampire Diaries."

On "Moonlight," Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) is a captivating, charming and immortal private investigator from Los Angeles, who defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help the living.

In a life-altering twist of fate, Mick was “...

A Few Must-See TV Shows This Fall (See Clips!)

6/9/2009 11:40am EDT
Last week's TV upfronts brought some re-vamps and a whole lot of raised eyebrows, but never fear, is here to sort through the soon-to-be-canceled masses and select a few must-see gems.

Melrose Place Reboot

The CW may have angered some Jason Dohring fans by not picking up his political drama for Fall 2009 - instead opting to choose just another revamp to add to the line-up. The new "Melrose Place" may follow the same formula as the new version of Beverly Hills 90210: campy primetime soap relationship drama set in the shiny, pretty people part of Los Angeles. It will fe...

Any private eye knows a lot about other people's secrets. L.A. private eye Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin) has a secret of his own. He's a vampire, dwelling in a covert netherworld complicated by friendship with an undead finance honcho (Jason Dohring), memories of the alluring ex- wife (Shannyn Sossamon) who turned him into a vampire, and a relationship with a human (Sophia Myles) he feels drawn to protect - and maybe to love. But no matter how tempting, Mick knows a vampire-human romance is eternally dangerous.

This 16-episode, 4-disc set of "Moonlight" voted the 2008 People's Choic...

TV Nemeses That Have Incredible Sexual Chemistry

12/8/2008 12:18pm EST
Veronica Mars
Love is never straightforward in TV land. There are always tons of obstacles, problems, and misunderstandings. Sometimes, the two leading characters are even arch enemies. Which definitely enhances sexual chemistry. Starpulse gives you six couples that prove: Being each other's nemesis is hot.

Tru Davis & Jack Harper (Eliza Dushku & Jason Priestley) - "Tru Calling"

Now these two are real arch enemies, having been pit against each other by none other than the universe itself. Tru re-lives days in order to save people who died the first time around; Jack's "calling" on the other ...

CBS Cancels 'Moonlight': What's A Vampire Fan To Do?

5/14/2008 1:37pm EDT
CBS just announced its 2008-09 schedule with one glaring absence: "Moonlight." What are fans of the fanged persuasion going to watch now?

There are rumors the CW may step in to rescue the beleaguered series (which has a corporate connection to CBS), but it's a slim chance. It's happened before - "Roswell" aired on the WB and moved to UPN before cancellation and ABC just picked up NBC castoff "Scrubs" - so it could happen again. Oh, and what about "Jericho?" But maybe that's not a good example. It was canceled. Twice.

So what can a "Moonlight" fan do? Many have already poured thei...

Comic Con Diary From the Geek Side

4/29/2008 2:43pm EDT
NYC Comic Con
Fellow Starpulse writer Michael Ryan may have lost his Comic Con virginity in New York City earlier this month, but mine was officially taken at age 10 when I attended my first con. This world of geekdom that so frightens the mainstream public is slowly being translated into "normal," and the attendance of celebrities, big publishing houses, and large studios at the Con gained the notice of the every day person who doesn't know Hal Jordan from Alan Scott. I, along with my photographer friend Lylianne, frolicked among my people for a fun-filled weekend.

Comic Con Spotlight On 'Moonlight'

4/25/2008 12:40pm EDT
The IGN theater at New York City Comic Con was bursting on Sunday, April 20, with two kinds of people: Those who were there to talk about "Moonlight" and those who were waiting for it to be over for "Harold & Kumar." It was clear to see the difference between the two by the sounds of screams in the air when a 12-minute clip show of the new vampire series was shown.

Although still in its first season, "Moonlight" has already managed to secure a group of loyal and intense fans, which is not unexpected for a show romanticizing vampires and the paranormal. The once beloved Joss Whedon sho...

We've envied their chemistry. We've cried when they split up. We've rooted for them to reconcile. Take a look at primetime's top 10 (technically 11) couples we think are most memorable:

The Teen Idols: Zack and Kelly, Saved by the Bell

Who didn't swoon when Zack set up a picnic outside of the high school prom when Kelly couldn't afford to go? Despite their ups and downs, through Zack's many girlfriends and that slimy, college boyfriend of Kelly's, the fans always knew the high school sweethearts were meant to be together. As far as Zack and Kelly shippers are concerned, they're s...

Jason Dohring
Veronica Mars fans take note! Jason Dohring is back this fall in the new CBS drama “Moonlight.” From Joel Silver and the creators of “Angel” and “Beauty and the Beast,” the series is about Mick St. John, a Los Angeles private investigator (Alex O’Loughlin) whose clients don't know his dark secret – he’s a vampire.

Dohring will play Josef, an ancient vampire who is confidante to Mick. Unlike Mick, the eternally young, wealthy and mischievous Josef relishes his immortality.
