Gerard Depardieu is new face of watch firm - report
French actor Gerard Depardieu has signed on as the new face of Swiss watch manufacturer Cvstos, according to new reports.

The Green Card star, who became a Russian citizen last year (13), is featured in a publicity photo on the company's Facebook page, sporting a jacket with the Russian state symbol of a double-headed eagle and a watch with an identical golden eagle on the dial.

Reports suggest he will front new 'Proud to be Russian' adverts for the Jetliner automatic Eagle of Russia watches.

French actor Gerard Depardieu was reportedly given a warning by police after allegedly throwing water on the owner and patrons of a restaurant near his home in southern Italy.

The Green Card is said to have argued with a restaurant owner in the town of Leece, where he owns a home, over noise coming from the eaterie.

According to Italy's ANSA news agency, the 65 year old allegedly threw water on the restaurateur and a number of guests, prompting a call to police.

Officers reportedly issued Depardieu with a warning, and urged him not to confront the owner again.

French actor Gerard Depardieu has been banned from the roads in his home country and handed a fine at the conclusion of his drunk-driving case.

The Green Card star, who became a Russian citizen in December after leaving France in a dispute over tax, was found to have been three times over the country's drunk-driving limit after falling off his scooter in Paris in November.

Tina Turner is set to surrender her U.S. passport and become a Swiss citizen.

The Proud Mary singer, who was born in Tennessee, has lived in Kuesnacht, just outside of Zurich, since 1995.

She recently petitioned the local council to grant her citizenship, and now she is to be made a legal resident of the country as soon as state and federal officials sign off on the order.

He was filming new movie "L'Enfance d'Icare" in Romania when he suddenly fell ill and was taken to the Garches hospital at the weekend but died early on Monday. His father's publicist, Artmedia, says, "He caught a virus which gave him a very severe pneumonia."
