Robert De Niro Disguised Himself As A Homeless Man For Shelter Visit

March 1st, 2012 8:33pm EST
Robert De Niro
A heavily disguised Robert De Niro spent a day at a homeless shelter in Boston, Massachusetts as he researched his new role in Being Flynn.

His make-under was so successful, the movie star had a full conversation with a regular at the shelter - about himself.

Director Paul Weitz explains, "We did spend time at Pine Street Inn homeless shelter, where Nick Flynn, who wrote the memoir, had worked. It was interesting to see him kind of blend into the woodwork, which he did very well.

"He had a cap pulled over his eyes and he pretended to have a cold so he could cover up his face.

"There was...

Actor Paul Dano didn't know where to look while shooting new movie Being Flynn with Robert De Niro because the Hollywood icon had stripped completely nude for a bath scene.

De Niro plays a con man who encounters his drug addict son Nick Flynn, portrayed by Dano, working in a homeless shelter in Boston, Massachusetts.

The opening scene sees De Niro answer the door to the actor after climbing out of a bathtub - and his lack of clothing left Dano red-faced.

The 27 year old tells WENN, "I think he was (naked) but he was covered in suds (soap bubbles)! I tried to avert my eyes. Bob went for i...

Robert De Niro was doused with a ton of lubricant for his monstrous birthing scene in 1994 film "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein."

Director and co-star Kenneth Branagh admits the movie legend was thrilling to work with, and he never complained once - even when he was covered with the K-Y Jelly goo.

Branagh says, "We gave him a two o'clock make-up call... because it was the sequence the next day where he had to be born as the creature... He had to be covered, top to toe, in prosthetic Latex and make-up.

"He's born; we put him in a sort of tub, he's thrown out of this womb-like container... He...

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies
Sadly, I haven’t caught last week’s pick yet: “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” However I did have the misfortune of watching the David Gordon Green comedy “The Sitter,” which turned out to be a complete dud. If you haven’t already read my review, give it a look to find out why I think Jonah Hill deserves better.

Arriving in theaters this week are the Guy Ritchie sequel “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” the Roman Polanski parental dramedy “Carnage,” the third Chipmunks adventure “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked,” and the Roger Corman themed documentary “Corman’s World: Exploits of a...

Jonah Hill's new funny film "The Sitter" opened in second with a lacklustre $10 million.

Other then the obvious lure of Quentin Tarantino himself, ardent movie fans would be hard pressed to argue that the calm cool of Robert Forster’s Max Cherry isn’t the real icing on "Jackie Brown’s" lovingly layered cake. Review: 'Killer Elite' An Action Thriller Weighed-Down By Too Much Exposition

September 22nd, 2011 7:00pm EDT
Killer Elite
On the surface "Killer Elite" seems to have all the right cinema stuff; a stellar cast, a story based on engaging real-life events and a cool overall action tone. So what went wrong? Problem is that in adapting the Sir Ranulph Fiennes 1991 novel The Feather Man somebody forgot to tell screenwriter Matt Sherring that "Killer Elite" was actually going to be a motion picture.

Leading action man Jason Statham plays a hitman who decides to get out of the business, but when his partner (Robert De Niro) is kidnapped and held for job ransom, he finds himself smack dab in the middle of the action...
