Angelina Jolie Named Honorary Dame By Queen Elizabeth

June 14th, 2014 9:00am EDT
Angelina Jolie
Queen Elizabeth II is recognizing actors Angelina Jolie and Daniel Day-Lewis in her Birthday Honors List.

The "Maleficent" star has been named an "honorary dame," while Day-Lewis will be knighted. The actress found out she was receiving the honor while co-chairing an international summit on sexual violence in London earlier this week. The gathering was aimed at fighting sexual violence as it occurs throughout the world and offered ideas for practical action.

Because Jolie isn't a British or Commonwealth citizen she will be unable to use her royal title. Other Americans who have received t...

Star-Studded Oscars Presenters Revealed - See The Full List
Robert De Niro, Sidney Poitier, Brad Pitt, and Kerry Washington are among the Hollywood stars set to present awards to their colleagues this Sunday at the Academy Awards.

While we don't know which awards they will be presenting, we can make some educated guesses. It stands to reason that Daniel Day-Lewis will be presenting the Best Actor award, since he won it last year. The same logic points to Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence presenting Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress, respectively.

The Oscar producers have hinted at a "hero theme" this year. Neil Meron told EW, "... we have...

2.) "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart surprised fans after arriving to the event on crutches. She apparently stepped on a piece of glass a couple days earlier but later that evening presented an award without the aid of the medical device.

Who Will Win Best Actor At The 2013 Oscars?

February 24th, 2013 1:30pm EST
Hugh Jackman
There's only one sure-thing at this year's Oscars -- Daniel Day-Lewis will win the Best Actor award for his performance in Lincoln.

It's hard to believe that was an actor playing Honest Abe in Steven Spielberg's biopic of the 16th President of the United States, and not Lincoln himself. Day-Lewis wasn't playing Lincoln, he was Lincoln.

Hugh Jackman's performance as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables" was nothing short of excellent either, and if these two films had been released in different years there's no doubt both stars would win this award; but unfortunately for Jackman, he'll be headi...

Gift bags containing all sorts of expensive tchotchkes are nothing new at awards ceremonies like the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys. They started out as a way for companies to get the stars photographed with their wares in exchange for free stuff, ultimately evolving into a p...

Oscars 2013
The 85th Annual Academy Awards – airing this Sunday at 8:30 PM EST on ABC – are sure to get a little rowdy this year.
