'Star Wars: Episode VII' Has A Title, Wraps Filming

Just over a year until its release, Star Wars: Episode VII has gotten an official title.

The film's official facebook page shared an image of the franchise's logo, showing the new subtitle "The Force Awakens."

The caption for the image was big news also: "'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' has completed principal photography."

The cast and crew of the film, directed by J.J. Abrams, celebrated the wrap of filming last weekend, and everyone received a baseball cap and a note from producers Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and Brian Burk.

Anthony Daniels Wouldn't Reprise C-3PO Role In 'Star Wars: Episo
Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels, who played the golden droid C-3PO all six films in the saga so far, told producers of the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, that he would only sign on to reprise his role if he would actually be in the film in costume and not voice a computer generated (CG) version of the character.

The actor was offered the old role by Episode VII director J.J. Abrams, who told him at the time that he only needed him to voice the character, so Daniels originally turned down the role.

At least one of the cast members of "Star Wars: Episode VII" is thrilled with yesterday's cast reveal. Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the iconic franchise, tweeted early Thursday morning: "UK table read- I was knocked out by the diverse & extraordinarily talented new cast members. A day after reports that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill all happened to be in London, England, where Star Wars: Episode VII just happens to be filming, the official casting announcement for the film was released on StarWars.com. And, indeed, the three stars will be returning for at least the first film in the new trilogy.

Ford, Fisher and Hamill will also be joined by Peter Mayhew, who returns to the saga as the Wookiee Chewbacca and Anthony Daniels, who will once again don the gold outfit of droid C-3PO.

Fans at this year's Comic Con who attended the Star Wars Fan Movie Awards were surprised with a short teaser for the upcoming (Sept. 16) Star Wars Saga Blu-ray release featuring a few storied deleted scenes from the original trilogy.

Star Wars icon Anthony Daniels has only learned to appreciate the magic of the sci-fi blockbuster in the past two years - by narrating the touring Star Wars in Concert stage spectacular.

The British actor, who has played android C-3PO in all the Star Wars films, admits he was never a true fan of the sci-fi franchise until he stood on the world's stages and watched costumed fans marvel in the music from the movies.
