12 Celebrities Who've Never Gotten Enough Credit

October 11th, 2014 12:10pm EDT
Adam Levine
Celebrities usually get plenty of attention, but sometimes they don't get enough credit. Maybe you know them for one thing, but you don't know the other three things they do, too. Maybe you don't know them that well, because they've not gotten as much press as they should. There are a lot of good people who are underrated, and that doesn't just mean that they haven't been discovered yet.

We've compiled this list of twelve celebrities who've never gotten enough credit over their whole careers - they're not just underrated now, but they've pretty much always deserved a bit more respect. In n...

Carson Daly Dishes On 'The Voice' Season 6
Whenever we need an answer about The Voice, we can always go to Carson Daly. The show's host - and one of its producers - has served as the link between the hit singing competition and its audience, explaining the various changes and listening to our questions and concerns. So when we found Carson at The Voice's red carpet Thursday, we welcomed the chance to ask him about the alterations in Season 6 and how the Emmy-winning series has evolved over the last three years.

First, about replacing the knockout rounds with a second set of battle rounds. "We loved it," Carson told us. "I think it ...

Carson Daly: 'The Voice's' Master Of Ceremonies

November 25th, 2013 12:10pm EST
Carson Daly
With all the attention we give to The Voice's coaches, it's important not to overlook the person who keeps the show on course: host and producer Carson Daly.

Quite simply, the show wouldn't be the same without Carson, who reminds us on a weekly basis that hosting is a whole lot more than reading off a TelePrompter into a microphone. It's his job to keep the show on target and on time, no matter what. We're not just talking when one of the coaches goes off on a tangent during their comments; this is the guy who steered the ship during triple-digit heat with no air conditioning.

And it's Ca...

There's one last night of battles on The Voice, and just one steal left, which belongs to Christina Aguilera. This is crunch time...for this phase of the top-rated singing competition, anyway. So let's get right to it, shall we?

Tuesday night begins with Christina's team, specifically Adriana Louise and Jordan Pruitt, who get handed Katy Perry's "Hot and Cold." Jordan confides that she's surprised to see advisor Billie Joe Armstrong because he's so different from Christina. Billie Joe instantly picks up on Jordan's "professional" side, while Christina thinks Adriana is "holding ...

Tonight, Adam has 14 spots on his team left to fill, Blake has 12, Cee Lo has 13 and Christina has 12. Let's laugh at how the "previously on" makes Adam look like the last kid picked on the playground at school.

First on deck tonight is Samuel Mouton, who sings Bob Marley's "Redemption Song," getting Adam, Cee Lo, and Christina's attention, in that order. One thinks Cee Lo will be naturally intrigued since Samuel likes cooking. Christina wants to know ...

'The Voice' Recap: Season 3 Blind Auditions, Part 1

September 11th, 2012 1:00am EDT
The Voice - Season 3
Aside from a little case of deja vu, it feels pretty good to have The Voice back on our airwaves. Season 3 starts with our four superstar coaches taking the stage yet again, this time for a rendition of the Rolling Stones' classic "Start Me Up" - which A) sounds great and B) is a reminder that no other celeb panel on TV has the street cred that these folks do. Although I could do without the confetti. But let's get to the competition, shall we?

The coaches have 16 spots to fill on their teams this time, up again from last season's 12 (though they're going to be going into live shows w...

'The Voice' Performance Show: Who Was Instantly Eliminated?

The producers of NBC's The Voice aren't making it easy: on Monday's performance show, an "instant elimination" forced two coaches to chop two artists before America's vote.

Neither the singers nor the coaches were fans of the surprise axe. Blake Shelton remarked that if he knew who was responsible for the idea, he'd kick them - and Team Blake's Erin Willett was quick to concur.

"I'm still unhappy with it. I think that's the worst thing we've done," said Team Christina's Chris Mann after the show.

Perhaps the only one to see any merit in the idea was Adam Levine, who remarked that it at...

It was decision time again on NBC's The Voice, this time for Team Adam and Team Cee Lo. Who did America save and who sung their last song Tuesday night?

For Team Adam, the bottom three were a trio of lovely ladies: Kim Yarbrough, Katrina Parker and Karla Davis. It was Katrina's heartbreaking rendition of No Doubt's "Don't Speak" that won her Adam's one reprieve.

On Team Cee Lo, facing elimination were Tony Vincent, Cheesa, and Erin Martin. Cheesa delivered a powerful version of Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" that earned her a second chance, despite Cee Lo first saying that his head was l...

It was another entertaining night on The Voice on Monday, but perhaps even moreso because again, putting Team Cee Lo against...well, any of the other three teams really shows how distinct Cee Lo's ideas are. While Team Adam stuck with fairly simple setups (perhaps the most production came with the giant airplane wing that Karla Davis got to sing on), Team Red Zone had guitar players on stilts for Jamar Rogers and a whole Egyptian s...

Christina's team bid farewell to Sera Hill and Moses Stone, as Christina chose to save Ashley de la Rosa. Meanwhile, Blake kept Jordis Unga and lost Charlotte Sometimes and Naia Kete.

The results came after a new part of the show this season: a "sudden sing" where the bottom three got a chance to perform for their coach's save (as opposed to last season, where a coach selected one based on their previous live performance).

Some of America's votes we...

Well, that'd be Team Adam (yay!). My coach gets right down to business, matching Pip vs. Nathan Parrett, and sending them off with Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good." Nathan is a little intimidated by the fact that Pip got all four coaches to turn for him, which is understandable, but kind of hilarious because in practice, Pip thinks Adam might be favoring Andrew, so it all evens out. Last week's first round of The Voice battles was fantastic, so my expectations for week two were pretty high. Those expectations were definitely met.

Team Christina starts it off, with Geoff McBride vs. Sera Hill, armed with Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools." It's an interesting match of artists with a "big song," as Christina herself puts it. Sharp choice, Ms. Aguilera. Geoff draws Lionel Richie as his advisor, and has to take a moment before they start rehearsing.
