'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Review: Love In The Time Of Hydra

March 25th, 2015 10:17am EDT
'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Recap: A Tale of Two S.H.I.E.L.D.s
Starting "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." off with a "Pulp Fiction" reference is always a good omen. "Love in the Time of Hydra" opens and Ward and Agent 33 are sitting in a classic middle American diner. There's talk of pumpkin pancakes and pecan syrup.

Then they pull out a couple of pistols and hold the place up. All we needed was for Ward to call 33 "Honey Bunny" and the homage would have been complete (and too obvious, probably).

The chunk of "Love in the Time of Hydra" willing to go bold with an elongated "Pulp Fiction" gag is also the chunk that's by far the most exciting. Ward and 33 are g...

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Recap: Yep, [SPOILER] Was Exactly What You Thought It Was

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Recap: Yep, [HUGE SPOILER] Was Exactly
As with every other "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." recap you'll read this week, this one comes with a hearty disclaimer.

SPOILERS. The most spoilery of spoilers; spoilers that dictate the fate of the ongoing Marvel universe and radically change the basic setup of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Ready? Cool.

Like it says up in the title, the giganto-reveal from last night's "What They Become" is the exact thing everyone was expecting. The secret temple, the obelisk and the alien writing all stem from one thing: the Inhumans.

The Inhumans being a particular group of people experimented on by ancient K...

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.': Alien Death Tombs Under Puerto Rico

December 3rd, 2014 10:46am EST
'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Recap: Alien Death Tombs Under Puerto R
The mid-season finale of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is nearly upon us, and with it comes (presumably- the ads have been pimping it pretty hard) the revelation of what happens when person is divined by the Diviner. Messy things, no doubt.

That's gonna be huge. But we're not there yet- instead, we've got to get through "...Ye Who Enter Here," the penultimate "Agents" hour of 2014.

Sometimes, it does feel like "...Ye Who Enter Here" is something to get through (instead of something to be enjoyed, breathlessly, while munching fistfuls of popcorn), but for the most part it's a blast- crammed wit...

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.': So THAT's What Those Carvings Were!

November 12th, 2014 10:46am EST
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Too often "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." feels like the downtrodden little brother of the Marvel Universe. Sure, it gets to associate itself with big names like "Thor" and "Iron Man," but the movies are the ones hogging all the cool characters (like "Thor" and "Iron Man").

The only toys "Agents" gets to play with are the ones too inconsequential to ever get their own movie.

But then, sometimes you get episodes like "The Writing on the Wall."

Because those carvings- revealed, finally, as a three-dimensional map of what looks like a city- that's something. Something big. Something with the pote...

Whether or not you’re an Avengers fan, it’s hard not to be excited for one of the most anticipated pilots of the fall season – Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., coming to ABC Sept. 24. At Comic Con this summer, we sat down with Chloe Bennet and Brett Dalton as they discussed their characters and how they feel about their “induction” into the Marvel universe.

“Every character has a history. That’s what Marvel is so great at, having a back story for their heroes, but they have just as much of a back story for these humans”, says Bennet, who plays Skye, newcomer computer hacker (or, in Bennet’...
