8/31/2012 9:37am EDT

A global celebration of James Bond will take place in October to mark 50 years since the release of the first 007 film.

Movie bosses behind the popular franchise have declared October 5th Global James Bond Day, five decades after Sean Connery made his debut as the superspy in 1962's Dr. No.

A series of special events are being organized around the world, including the launch of a Bond exhibition at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Music of Bond concert at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles, and the release of a new documentary, Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story o...

Roger Moore: 'Daniel Craig Is The Best Actor To Play James Bond'

8/27/2012 2:20pm EDT
Roger Moore
Roger Moore has hailed Daniel Craig as the "best actor" to have played James Bond.

The 84 year old, who portrayed 007 from 1973 to 1985, caused controversy last year by branding Craig's Quantum of Solace "a long, disjointed commercial" - but Moore insists he is a huge fan of the Layer Cake star.

In his new book Bond on Bond, he writes, "I loved Casino Royale and Daniel Craig. He is a wonderful actor, certainly the best actor to play Bond. (He has) the best build of any Bond."

Moore also admits he is looking forward to the upcoming 23rd installment of the superspy franchise, adding: "I be...

8/9/2012 12:07pm EDT
The Bourne Legacy
Jeremy Renner isn't playing Jason Bourne, but he's taking over the Bourne franchise for Matt Damon in The Bourne Legacy. Renner's also not the first actor or actress to become the new face of a franchise. Here are 10 other franchise recasts:

Bruce Banner - Eric Bana/Edward Norton/Mark Ruffalo: Bana signed for three Hulk films, but was replaced by super fan Norton when Marvel re-acquired the rights. Norton re-wrote The Incredible Hulk and starred in a hit, but was unable to come to a deal when a role in The Avengers was available. Ruffalo filled in, and was given positive reviews.

New 'Skyfall' Trailer Features James Bond Back From The Dead

8/1/2012 8:20am EDT
The second trailer for James Bond film "Skyfall" has arrived. It shows 007 (Daniel Craig) getting shot and apparentely killed in a mission gone wrong. Naturally, he doesn't actually die. Instead he fakes his death, similar to Sean Connery's 007 in "You Only Live Twice."

Craig's Bond re-enters the spy game when a villain attacks British agency MI6 in an attempt to get at M, Bond's boss played by Judi Dench.

The latest 007 trailer features some new faces, including Ralph Fiennes as M's eventual replacement, Ben Whishaw, a young gadget savy master Q. There's also villain Silva, played by a b...

Daniel Craig Named Best Dressed Onscreen Star

5/25/2012 4:20pm EDT
Daniel Craig
Daniel Craig has seen off competition from Will Smith and Johnny Depp to be crowned the best dressed onscreen star.

The British actor's sharp suits in the James Bond movies helped him top the poll for Lovefilm, and Smith's Men in Black agent alter-ego landed him second place.

Late star Heath Ledger came third for his eccentric Joker character in The Dark Knight, Depp was placed fourth for his turn in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while Jim Carrey's outlandish outfits in Dumb and Dumber bumped him into fifth.

George Lazenby Angry Over James Bond Drinking Beer In 'Skyfall'

5/23/2012 12:07pm EDT
George Lazenby, who played James Bond in On Her Majesty's Sercret Service, is outraged that the spy will be drinking Heineken in the new film Skyfall instead of the usual vodka martini.

TMZ reports that the producers behind the Bond flick secured a $45 million deal with Heineken, and Daniel Craig will be drinking the beer at some point in the film. Since the series' inception, Agent 007 has always ordered a vodka martini "Shaken, not stirred." In Casino Royale, Daniel Craig's bond ordered the drink - and when asked how he wanted it prepared, he snapped "Do I look like I give a damn?"

Sam Worthington To Be The Next James Bond?

4/26/2012 11:24am EDT
Sam Worthington
Sam Worthington is the actor most likely to step into James Bond's shoes when Daniel Craig hangs up his Walther PPK, according to Britain's leading bookmaker.

Craig is currently shooting scenes for his third outing as the suave superspy in Skyfall, which is due for release in 2014, and shows no signs of retiring from the role.

However, when he eventually moves on from the 007 franchise, Avatar actor Worthington - who was born in Britain but grew up in Australia - is hot favorite to take over the coveted part, followed by English actor Tom Hardy and Shame star Michael Fassbender.

Actress Naomie Harris has spent two months in gun training for her role as a tough new Bond girl.

Harris spent weeks on a shooting range learning to fire guns to play special agent Eve in new movie Skyfall, in which Daniel Craig reprises his role as 007.

In a new video diary showcasing her progress, Harris can be seen working with experts as she gets to grips with a variety of weapons.

She says, "Eve is a field agent. She's very capable. She kind of sees herself as Bond's equal. She's not, but that's how she sees herself. I've been training for two months now. I've mainly been doing g...

On Friday, Jon Hamm bashed socialites Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian for making stupidity "fashionable." After what we assume was a busy weekend, Kim has fired back at the Mad Men star via Twitter!

In an Elle UK interview, Hamm followed in the footsteps of Daniel Craig and called Kim "a f*cking idiot."

He is quoted as saying, "We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered a negative. Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f*cking idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded signi...

Daniel Craig Says Enya Song Was Ideal For 'Dragon Tattoo' Torture Scene

12/31/2011 12:30pm EST
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Daniel Craig came up with the idea for the killer in "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" to listen to Enya as he tortured his character in the film after director David Fincher told him he was looking for the perfect tune to "underscore the banality of evil."

The British actor, who plays journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the dark thriller, suggested the ideal track would be Enya's 1988 hit "Orinoco Flow" and played it to Fincher on his iPod.

The moviemaker recalls, "We knew that we needed a little moment of levity... the villain should walk over and turn on music, because he... doesn't like to...

Q&A: Meet Ana de la Reguera

12/30/2011 11:45am EST
Ana de la Reguera
"You have to be very humble to start over," says Latin actress Ana de la Reguera when we connect very early on a Monday morning.

That's something she knows firsthand. She's just now arriving home after working through the night. It's not the kind of work schedule you'd expect for an actress who's considered "one of the most influential Latinas in the United States" according to Univision and who's been feted by - or on the cover of - various international publications like Glamour Mexico, Vogue Latinoamerica, and People en Espanol.

While all the accolades in Latin America are appreciate...

The 37 Hottest Male Stars Of 2011

12/20/2011 8:00am EST
Hottest Male Stars of 2011
Let's hear it for the boys! It's that time of year again when we honor the "37 Hottest Male Stars." Our list includes the usual suspects (Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and George Clooney), as well as a younger crew (Taylor Lautner and Zac Efron).

Robert Pattinson dominated the big screen with "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," and Ryan Gosling impressed critics with "Drive." We can't decide between who's the sexier magical creature on "True Blood" - Alexander Skarsgaard or Joe Manganiello.

Let's not forget the musicians: Adam Levine, Justin Bieber, Drake and other heartthrobs also make...

David Fincher Couldn't Get Insurance To Cover 'Dragon Tattoo' Motorcycle Stunt

12/19/2011 9:15pm EST
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Director David Fincher had to ditch plans to film a motorbike stunt scene with Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig for new thriller The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo because no insurance firm was willing to provide cover.

Mara stars as lead character Lisbeth Salander in the Hollywood adaptation of late Swedish author Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy books, opposite Craig as journalist Mikael Blomkvist.

The actress, who underwent a dramatic physical transformation for the role, was required to take motorcycle lessons to learn how to drive the two-wheeler for the film, and she admits it was one of...

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies - 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,' 'Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol' & More

12/19/2011 11:00am EST
Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies
I’m disappointed to report that I didn’t love Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes sequel “A Game of Shadows.” The first half hour is pretty boring, and although the action picks up pretty heavily toward the middle, Ritchie seems to care more about style than substance in the film. He continues to use Sherlock’s own bullet-time type slow-mo combined with crazy forced perspectives of bullets and shells being shot from guns, which admittedly is pretty darn exciting at times.

What the movie lacks though is the same great banter between Watson and Holmes that was present in the first film. Holmes...

The star has so far signed up to three Bond movies, "Quantum of Solace," "Casino Royale" and upcoming film "Skyfall."

And now he looks set to overtake Roger Moore as the longest-running actor to play the superspy if he signs a deal to film a total of eight movies.

Moore currently holds the record with seven films, while Sean Connery took on six movies as Bond.

Wilson tells Britain's The People, "Daniel's been a te...

Rooney Mara Softens Her Look At New York 'Dragon Tattoo' Premiere

12/15/2011 8:39am EST
Rooney Mara
Rooney Mara attended the "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" New York City premiere last night in a wispy black dress with her blunt bangs nowhere in sight. We think she looks sophisticated and less edgy than she did earlier this week at the world premiere in London.

The actress recently opened up about an embarrassing role she played on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" in 2006.

She told Allure magazine, "It was so awful. So stupid. Me and my boyfriend - although I (didn't) look old enough to have a boyfriend - went and beat up these fat people, and at the end of the show you find out th...

He told GQ magazine, "You see that and you think, 'What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f**king idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions?' I'm not judging it. Well, I am, obviously."

Family matriarch Jenner has now ordered Craig to say sorry fo...

Gabriel Macht: The Smartest Actor On Television

12/1/2011 11:00am EST
Gabriel Macht is a genius.

It isn't in the conventional sense. Measuring him by his IQ - whatever that may be - wouldn't do him justice. Neither would examining his lengthy filmography of over twenty years. Yet spend a few minutes in his company, and it becomes quickly apparent that he is brilliant. It's in his verbal acuity, which would make many professional writers envious. It's in the thought he gives to even the most casual of conversations. He's just plain smarter than you or me.

He's not the type to need to prove that to anyone. Yet with the success of USA Network's original...
