Not So Fast, Is Daniel Craig Really Quitting Bond?

2/24/2016 3:12pm EST
Relax, Daniel Craig Has Not Quit James Bond
Yesterday, an interview with Mark Strong on Shortlist suggested his friend, Daniel Craig, had retired from playing James Bond. This story got picked up wide in mainstream outlets, because of course it’s possible Bond news. But if you look at Strong’s quotes, it’s clear this is not any official news. Shortlist was even careful to add “according to Mark Strong” to qualify the headline. Frankly, he’s being diplomatic and being careful not to get himself or his friend into any trouble.

Shortlist asked Strong if he’d like to appear in a Bond film in any capacity. Like any actor asked a speculat...

Daniel Craig Taps One Direction's Niall Horan As Next Bond?
With "Spectre" raking in millions worldwide in its first weekend of release, the film's star, Daniel Craig, has already pegged the next young man to take his place as James Bond, and it isn't who you might think!

According to People, Craig seems pretty keen on having One Direction's Niall Horan succeed him as the suave spy.

Craig told U.K. radio station Capital FM that "good man" Horan would be "absolutely fabulous" in the role once Craig steps down from the film series.

Others considered for the role were Idris Elba, Hugh Jackman and Benedict Cumberbatch.

When asked by the radio statio...

With 'Spectre' Bond Deserved Better

11/5/2015 12:00pm EST
I’ve read a lot of comments recently begging folks in the cinematic opinions biz not to compare the new Daniel Craig 007 outing "Spectre" to the previously perfect "Skyfall." I guess there’s an overall feeling of unfair in comparing any follow-up film to an original one that feels flawless. So I take on the request above and I’ll try to keep the brilliance of "Skyfall" – which incidentally was on my Top Ten films for that year – out of the "Spectre" equation. "Spectre" as a stand alone film has all the troupes one has come to expect from the franchise as a whole - a handful of stunning s...

Daniel Craig On The Fence About Doing Another Bond Film?

'Spectre' Daniel Craig Still 'Undecided' If He Should Play Bond
Fans just may see Daniel Craig in the role of super spy James Bond again after all!

Just weeks after Craig revealed he would "rather slash his wrists" than do another stint as the beloved spy and if he did do the role, it would "only be for the money," he looks to have had a change of heart.

In a story published by People, Craig didn't say no when asked if he would return for the next installment of the ongoing Bond saga.

He told the BBC: "No, this is what's going on at the moment. I'm enjoying this."

The actor might still be on the fence about continuing the role, but one thing is for ...

Is This Actor The Next James Bond?

6/16/2015 12:41pm EDT
Damian lewis
Start placing your bets on the next 007. According to the UK bookmaker William Hill (via The Guardian), English actor Damian Lewis might just be our next James Bond.

Hill has odds on all the leading debonair British actors up for the role once Daniel Craig's through. Idris Elba (5/2), Tom Hardy (4/1), Henry Cavill (5/1) and Michael Fassbender (7/1) are all in the running (not officially, but at least according to those placing Bond bets). But it's Lewis that just became the favorite, with 6/4 odds.

Obviously, MGM and Columbia Pictures would be a firmer source of actual James Bond casting,...

Second Trailer For 'Spectre' Has Arrived

6/10/2015 3:47pm EDT
New 'Spectre' Trailer Shows Classic James Bond Action
We've already seen the first trailer for Spectre, the next James Bond film that comes out this fall. But those who tuned in to last night's NBA Finals got the first glimpse of the latest trailer for the film.

The 60 second spot shares some scenes from the original trailer, with the same opening getting delivered by Moneypenny and Christoph Waltz again making a very shady appearance as Franz Obeerhauser. But this time around, the studio focused on showing more of the heart-stopping action the James Bond franchise is known for. There are a lot of quick shots of car chases, explosions, gunpla...

Daniel Craig Has Surgery After Injuring Knee On Set Of New Bond
Secret agent James Bond is known for being a tough guy, and it seems the same can be said about current Bond actor Daniel Craig.

Craig reportedly had surgery on his knee over Easter weekend after injuring it two months ago while shooting a scene for the upcoming Bond film Spectre. The 47-year-old actor was shooting at London's Pinewood Studios when he sprained his knee.

But Craig sucked it up and kept shooting, even with the injury. The arthroscopic surgery was done in New York during a scheduled Easter break.

The surgery is being described as minor, but it's unclear if Craig will be si...

It was once rumored that the star famously had the phrase "Thank You" tattooed above his crotch, but it's actually just his name. He has dated...

Faulks wrote the 2008 novel, a sequel to The Man with The Golden Gun, to mark the 100th anniversary of Bond author Ian Fleming's birth, but attempts to bring the story to the big screen have previously been shelved due to its 1960s setting.

When Daniel Craig was a teenager all he could think about was sex. The James Bond actor admitted to Rolling Stone magazine that he was not an innocent child and romance was the farthest thing from his mind.

He explained, "You want this nice, lovely image of me having my first kiss with hearts sparkling in the background? All I wanted to do was get in the girl's knickers. I've been kissing girls, like stolen kisses in playgrounds...for as long as I can remember. But when puberty hit, my head exploded."

Craig stars in the number-one box office film "Skyfall," which made nearly $90 million d...

We know being James Bond is hard work. That’s why we appreciate it so much when he saves the world with a great sacrifice to his personal relationships (how many of those Bond girls stick around? Even the ones that survive leave.) Daniel Craig has a good sense of humor about it though, as he described making the latest film Skyfall.

“It’s seven months of filming so it’s like making four movies at the same time,” Craig said. “There’s a second unit going on, there’s the main unit. We’re shooting action sequences, we’re shooting dialogue sequences, underwater sequences. There’s nothing like i...

Review 'Skyfall': James Bond Is Back And Steps Into the 21st Century

11/7/2012 2:04pm EST
'Skyfall' directed by the super talented Sam Mendes gives us a very different James Bond.

Yes, he's still the charismatic super macho male that loves sex, hot women, hot cars, gambling and kicking butt. But this time around he's also vulnerable, slightly worn out and much more human.

Don't want to spoil the fun, so I'll just talk about the plot with broad strokes.

The film begins in Istanbul where Bond (Daniel Craig) finds a fellow MI6 agent critically wounded and the hard drive of a laptop missing.

Bond goes after the thief/hitman, Patrice (Ola Rapace), which culmin...
