The joke trailer, which has been posted on the FunnyorDie.com website, features Lautner as an Iowa farmer who turns a cornfield into a gridiron pitch for two 'ghost' teams made up of current stars facing no professional football this coming season as players and owners argue over contracts.

Russell Crowe To Play Jor-El In 'Superman' Reboot?

Russell Crowe is in talks to take on Marlon Brando's role in the upcoming Superman revamp.

The Oscar winner is slated to portray the Man of Steel's father Jor-El in Zack Snyder's new superhero movie, opposite Brit Henry Cavill.

If he signs on, he'll join Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner in the movie.

His Gladiator co-star Connie Nielsen is also reportedly in negotiations for the film - to play Jor-El's wife, and Superman's mom, Lara.

Brando played Jor-El in Superman: The Movie (1978) and was featured in 2006's Superman Returns, thanks to CGI (computer-generated imagery) effects.

Diane Lane has signed up to star in the new Superman movie as the Man of Steel's adoptive mom.

The actress has been cast in the role of Martha Kent, who adopts the young superhero, to be played by Henry Cavill, after he lands on Earth in a rocket from the planet Krypton.

Last month, it was reported that director Zack Snyder had recruited Kevin Costner to star as Superman's dad, Jonathan.

Superman: Man of Steel is expected to be released next year.

Kevin Costner has reportedly signed up to star in the new Superman movie as the Man of Steel's earthbound father.

Director Zack Snyder has cast the Dances With Wolves star in the role of Jonathan Kent, opposite Henry Cavill as the superhero, according to LatinoReview.com.

The late Glenn Ford played Kent in Richard Donner's 1978 film, Superman: The Movie.

Superman: Man of Steel is expected to be released in December 2012.
