Comedian Dane Cook says he made a "bad judgment call" last week by making light of the tragic movie theater massacre at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado, just over a week ago.

Dane Cook Slammed For Joking About Colorado Theater Shooting

July 27th, 2012 2:25pm EDT
Dane Cook
On Thursday, Dane Cook joked about last week's deadly Colorado cinema massacre during a stand-up gig at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.

He told the audience, "So I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into the movie... And I don't know if you've seen the movie, but the movie is pretty much a piece of crap... I know that if none of that would have happened, pretty sure that somebody in that theatre, about 25 minutes in, realising it was a piece of crap, was probably like, 'Ugh, f**king shoot me.'"

In response to his "joke," some people laughed while others groaned th...

'Hawaii Five-O' 1.18 'Loa Aloha' Review

February 22nd, 2011 9:25am EST
Hawaii Five-O
As we established with my review of last week's Hawaii Five-O, I really like it when things blow up. I especially like it when it comes as part of a great plot. This week's episode is the total package.

We meet Danny's younger brother, Matt (Dane Cook), who appears to be successful, fun and likeable, but of course things can't ever be that simple; they'd be boring if they were. By the end of the first act, Steve and Danny are made aware that Matt is the focus of a federal fraud investigation, and on the verge of being indicted. I know that I decried stunt casting last week, but I'm ...

Comic-Con is an ever-evolving beast. It started as a few dozen collectors meeting in a basement in San Diego to trade and discuss comics. Now it is an event so massive it shuts down an entire city for the weekend.

Comic-Con also holds a tremendous amount of power nowadays. Nervous directors unveil scenes from their latest superhero big-screen opus to the attendees, well-aware that a lukewarm response could spe...

There seems to be a relationship between the state of comedian Andy Kindler's career and the state of American culture. The worse the economy, the less informative the news, and the poorer the satire, the more opportunities Andy gets. Magic isn't about making things actually disappear, but it is about the art of distraction. "Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann" is not about dance but about the illusion of dance. "Dance War" is not an actual competition, but the illusion of a competition. We know this because ABC is slowly turning this song and dance show into a showcase for... anything.

A new season of "The Bachelor" arrives in March? Throw Matt Grant on, the smarmy British single of the upcoming season. As a side note, can ABC groom their reality stars a little better? When Drew Lachey asked Matt to tell him...

Movies That Will Probably Suck In 2008

Movies are awesome. Sometimes, however, a movie isn't awesome. Sometimes it should never have been made, and you shouldn't go see it (because it's a waste of money or you just want to protest). The "Suck Scale" runs from 1-5, with 5 being amazingly bad.
