Stephen Colbert To Once Again Attempt Trek Around Bermuda Triangle

April 6th, 2011 8:47am EDT
Stephen Colbert
Funnyman and TV presenter Stephen Colbert is set to return to the savage seas off the coast of Bermuda for another shot at the 777-mile Charleston Race.

The comic was a member of a sailing crew in 2005's trek around the infamous Bermuda Triangle, and he admits it was a life-altering experience.

And now he's hitting the high seas again in May.

He tells Outside magazine, "Though I grew up in a sailing community...I am not a sailor. I wasn't allowed to sail because I'm not waterproof. I have no eardrum in my right ear. As a child, I imagined that if the boat capsized, my skull would fill wi...

Rally to Restore Sanity/Fear
Comedy Central hasn't released any details yet on this weekend's event in Washington D.C. "The Rally To Restore Sanity and/or Fear," but a permit was issued by the National Park Service and made available to the public. In an article by the Christian Science Monitor, they have put together a partial schedule of events from the permit but there are still lots of unknown guests.

Questions have risen that Jon Stewart may "jump the shark" sort of speak, by crossing the line of comedic political commentator to actually participating. Stewart and Colbert are way too smart to fall into th...

It's one thing to be hired, right there, on the spot for a job. A strange combination of joy for getting the position and fear because, well, they want you to start right now. Now, imagine the same scenario but it involved going on television in front of a live studio audience and millions of people at home. This is what happened to current Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi the day he auditioned for his job. Spotlight On Jon Stewart

If someone said years ago that Jon Stuart Leibowitz would become one of the respected and beloved comedians in the world, he would have been the first person to start laughing. After all, he was "that dude" from movies like "Half Baked," "The Faculty," and "Playing by Heart." He changed his name in Hollywood to Jon Stewart, and "The Jon Stewart Show" was canceled after a very short life span. He was a somewhat successful stand up comedian, and hosted "Short Attention Span Theater" on Comedy Central and an MTV show called "You Wrote It, You Watch It." Neither of which did particularly well. ...

Talent-Packed 'The Love Guru' a Script of Destiny From Funnyman Mike Myers

Granted, I was one of the few at my screening to understand this Hebrew line as “quiet, please” and laugh at its precision placement, but that’s OK.

Though always known as a hippie funnyman, the novel script for “The Love Guru” actually holds personal and grave emotional value for Myers. He has said the film is a “reflection of the ...

Top 10 Entertainers Of The Year

We put a lot of thought into who should make it into the "Top 10 Entertainers Of The Year" list of 2007, and it caused quite the debate among our friends and colleagues, particularly over who should occupy the top spot. Take a look:

10. The Cast of High School Musical

The group that made "High School Musical" a phenomenon went through a lot in 2007. They rocketed from nobodys to tabloid fixations (hello, Zac Efron), from adorable, dimple-cheeked Hilary Duff's in-the-making to sex symbols (naked photos of Vannessa Hudgens, anyone?). The point is, these singing and dancing young actors...
