CBS Announces Mid-Season Programming Plans
CBS announced mid-season schedule changes that include the return of the drama "Flashpoint," the premiere of the mystery event "Harper's Island," the debut of the new game show "Game Show In My Head" and the returns of the Network's reality hits Survivor and The Amazing Race.

Memorial Day has come and gone, and with its passing the summer of 2008 has (unofficially) begun. It wasn't so many years ago that the summer quarter was little more than an exercise in futility for the networks. They figured that no one would want to stay indoors on beautiful summer evenings to watch original programming, so they instead filled the schedule with repeats of shows that weren't interesting the first time around. Occasionally, viewers were treated to the burn-off episodes of a failed (and swiftly canceled) offering from the prior season. Yippee.

CBS Orders New Police Drama 'Flashpoint'
CBS has ordered 13 episodes of "Flashpoint" (working title), a new police drama about an elite big city Strategic Response Unit (SRU) that will be broadcast later this year both on CBS in the U.S. and on CTV, Canada's largest privately owned English language broadcast network.
