Forgotten Friday Flick - 'Gentlemen Broncos'
With "Napoleon Dynamite" helmer Jared Hess’s latest outing "Don Verdean" hitting both theaters and On Demand this week it felt like a great time to go back to some of his past work unappreciated at the time – welcome to Forgotten Friday Flick! Today we’re traveling back to 2009 to revisit a comedic hidden gem that most critics dismissed as subpar. (For the record my review at the time was four stars – I always dug it!) Pitting an impressionable sci-fi loving kid against a cocky arrogant best-selling author for a plagiarism match to the death, there’s a ton of fun, fantasy and fights betw...

Interview: 'Don Verdean' Director Jared Hess On Comedy, Music &
Any long lasting filmmaker worth their cinematic salt eventually adopts a signature style. Be it strong visuals, savory dialogue or colorful characters, there’s usually a strong telltale that reveals the identity of the auteur. In the case of prolific writer/director Jared Hess it’s nothing short of creating a unique world most have never seen. With "Napoleon Dynamite" he showed us the small town joy of ligers and Canned Heat, in "Nacho Libre" the wacky wisdom of wrestling and with the hidden gem "Gentlemen Broncos" the importance of fighting back in the face of flamboyance. Now, still ...

Comedian Rhys Darby has confirmed the Flight Of The Conchords cast is eager to reunite for a movie based on the hit TV show and may begin work on the script next year.

McKenzie recently hinted in an interview that a big screen adaptation was in the works, but bosses for American network HBO quashed fans' hopes by stating "There are no plans for a Flight of the Conchords movie."

Jemaine Clement On Why There Won't Be More 'Flight Of The Conchords'

11/2/2009 2:27pm EST
Flight of the Conchords
The Flight of the Conchords have sworn off a third season of their HBO show, to the dismay of their fans (they actually have more than the one played by Kristen Schaal on TV.) It's just too much work for them, says Jemaine Clement."

"It's sooo hard to get through one because you have to record two albums worth of material, and write a sitcom at the same time it would take to do an album," Clement said. "The next time, we have to write the songs as well, it's even harder. So, I don't know, it doesn't seem worth it for us, I guess. Because if we do a really great job on the third season, i...

TV Honorees That Should Get Their First Shot At Emmy Nominations

6/10/2009 12:02pm EDT
Aaron Paul
Yesterday, we went over the Emmy nominees who have overstayed their welcome. Those perennial TV honorees that simply don't deserve the recognition they once did or, in some cases, never did at all.

So if they're out, who's in? Surely, there can't be too many nominees waiting in the wings. After all, television professionals choose these awards; they can't possibly leave out any substantial number of qualified candidates in favor of perennial duds.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is. Voters simply don't like to change their ways with regards to voting. It almost seems that a ...
